There are a lot of dumiflotchies. Tell us which one you removed!!!

A dumiflotchy is the same as a thing-a-ma-jig.

Was it the original copy of the United States Constitution, which was hidden there by David Axelrod when our new president told him to “get rid of this thing”? That would be my guess.

Good guesses.... I removed the resonator to plug it off and the inside was coated with a light film of oil and had plastic rattling around it....from the molding process I guess...... doesn't matter now as it is plugged and will stay that way unless I have an issues under warranty and I'll remove the plug and reinstall it.

What did you use to plug the hole? I tried to search on thing-a-ma-jig and such and can't find the original post that had the steps to take that thing off.

Thanks..

Loosen the lower clamp and pop it off....I used a rubber 2" expansion plug from the local hard wear store.....the wing nut is cast aluminum on mine so be careful not to over tighten it...I removed it and installed a larger flat washer and a nut.....

Why or how does it help?

You get more turbo noise (especially under load) and the resonators are prone to cracking and letting in unfiltered air.... so mostly peace of mind

i used a quick cap. its a 2" plug that slips right over the hole with a hose clamp around it and its better than the expanson plugs cause it wont loosen up. i got mine at home depot in the plumbing section
