Took a five hour drive up to the mountains this past weekend, all was well, couldn't been happier with the performance of the truck. BUT...
I'm noticing that may egt's are slightly higher than usual..Truck is driving on: PPE standard x. level 1, 37" tires stock 3.73 gearing..My usual cruising parameters are at 72mph w egt's at 800 deg. and rpm at 1700. Now, for the past couple days after the trip im noticing that egt's is slightly higher driving at the same speed and rpm's. I just changed the fuel filter and cleaned my intake before the trip up. But I haven't changed oil, and its got over 3500 miles, oil is royal purple synthetics. My drivers info says i have 50% oil life, wondering if thats acurate? Is this the cause of higher egt's ?

Was there any kind of headwind? That'll do it..Your oil is still good for 5 or 6k miles!

I have stock wheels and tires and my truck turns 2k at ~73mph how are you only turning 1700?
800 is about right with a stock tune. at 2k RPM's

Fuel quality, air temperature, wind, elevation, tire pressures, etc... all play a role here. I mean if they were up maybe 300 degrees more maybe something is going on. But define 'slightly' higher...

Winter blend will run higher EGT's because of the kerosene in it.. I'm sure it's not your first time running winter blend this season but, no two batches are the same.. With the same tune and driving style mine runs 600-700 sometimes 800ish depending where I filled up at..

according to my gauge, regularly cruising pyro is at 800 degrees, slightly higher is an additional 200-300 degrees

Maybe you should just send the pits up front and pull you up the mountain. Probably would be faster anyways :D

Winter blend won't throw you off that far... You must've been loading it more somehow.. Wind, extra cargo etc etc..

With your lift and tires even a 5-10mph breeze would make a difference..
