I am always getting questions about this, so i figured I would revive an old thread that was closed a long time ago.

You can see in the picture that it consists of:

high pressure regulator
12v lock-off solenoid
high voltage ignitor
some spark plugs and brake line
Pure Stupidity!

me and my friends made a similar kit last year on my truck...although we used a 0-60 psi adjustable regulator to bump up for bigger flames...i got a video on youtube.com before we had spark plugs in just look up diesel flame kit u'll find it...they shoot about 5-6ft flames, that are loud and are just big torches...with it turned up we got it hot enough to turn stacks glowing red where propane was lighting

I designed the flame kit on Black Demon's truck and I'm currently working on improving it and making it a cleaner / easier install.

The new / improved kit will not have spark plugs to foul up and will be able to run off a standard 20 lb tank. Right now its setup with a hand held controler in the cab to turn on the gas and spark the flames.

In the future it may become a 2 stage kit, second stage being kerosene to shoot 20' + flames. Also going to set it up with a wireless remote controller.

If all goes well we will be selling complete kits, maybe around June. Gotta get my lawyer to draft up a kick ass disclaimer so I don't get sued, lol.

Still working on it, but no kit yet... lifes just been to busy, right now I'm 400 miles from home doing military training for the next 3 weeks.

We did get a web site up, but it doesn't really tell you much other than that we are working on it www.flamestacks.com looking like we won't get anything out until later in the year.

Wow, didn't realize there was this much interest. Guess if you guys don't mind, we need some opinions. What would you be willing or would you think is reasonable for a kit? Kits would be sold for single stack, dual stacks. The stacks themselves would not be included, it would be a "module" that you install inside your stack(s), a valve box and hose to a 20 lb tank that you would provide, and the hand controler up in the cab, which ill possibly have a wireless option so you could get out of the truck and admire your flames.... Just looking for some input so we know if what were thinking based on time to build and materials is reasonable.

Oh and to the mods, please don't delete. Once we have a kit available for sale I will become a sponsor or what ever I need to do to sell on here.

How big would the 20lb tank be? Id probably just like to run a smaller one like for a grill. That would fit on my toolbox and I would beable just to exchange it. I'm starting to run out of space to mount stuff under the bed. :D

Yeah the grill ones that you can exchange at walmart or the gas station are 20lb tanks, thats the idea, keep it simple so you can get a tank late on a friday or sat night and go out showing off, lol.

I'm not sure what PFrog has experinced with his system but with the first one that we had on Black Demon's truck we were having 2 problems.
1. Diesel Sote fouls out spark plugs really fast, and once there full of the sote you can't clean them enough to make them work again. So I came up with a system that doesn't use a spark plug... it works but were still ironing out some of the kinks with it.
2. Air / propane / exhaust mix. So one setting on the regulator might work great at idle, but then once you start the truck the exhaust chokes the flames out.... change the mix and then it doesn't work well with the truck off...

When our kit is done it will be a system that you just have to open the valve on the tank, flip a power switch on the controler and hit the trigger to light the flames, with the truck running or not. So if the tank is open you can turn the system on and off at will while driving around if you want.
