I know moderators might move this. But anyone else have the housing explode for the nuckle. Passenger side next to diff. Posted here to see if STOCK trucks are doing the same. Bad castings?
Here is my problem.
07.5 4 dr long box
fabtech 8 inch lift and 37 inch tires.
I was pulling my 40 ft 5 th wheel. I had tires turned in 4 wd low and ripped the passenger side axle shaft OUT of the nuckle. So I replaced the shaft. It was 1400.00 from dealer...No rebuilt units out yet. New trucks are different.
Budy got one for 800. Still alot of money. But figured this was my fault. Way to extreme.
Everything has been fine now.
Yesterday used 4 wd in snow on a job sight. 6 inch of snow and a little mud.
Wheels were straight. In 4 high And bang. The knuckle exploded.
I called fabtech. they said I prob bent the dif brackets. So its out of allignment the first time and now it did it again.
I looked and there not bent.
Might get lucky. budy might be able to warranty the shaft i bought.
There are spacers to make shafts longer because of lift. There only like 3/8 thick. My 03 truck were much thicker. I was thinking about adding thicker spacers.
Fabtech said at full compression the shafts might hit then.
But if you look your lucky if these trucks even move 5 inches of travel. There to stiff. Its not like we are raceing the baja.
Fabtech will not be my first choice in lifts from here on out.
Anyone else have a problem.
