I just had my injectors (all 8) replaced under warranty by GM. I was hoping to pick the truck up today but instead i got a phone call from them that on the road test the truck basically died. After further investigation they think that the injector harness is the culprit. I was told that its very common on the duramax for vibration to cause a short in this harness. To me it seems strange that this should come up immediately after replacing the injectors. Is it possible the mechanic pinched a wire and is just covering his but? If anybody has any help it would be great.

My harness was split open at the rubber boot where it passed through the valve cover. Looked to be from being bent back and forth a few times. I packed it with form a gasket. Anything is possible but rest assured they will NEVER tell. Heck, now they may get to bill you for a harness that you didn't need and make some money off this injector job. Tell them you want to see your old parts if you have to pay for anything.

short in wire harness, LLY issue, check out LLY section. i would go with mechanic, didn't have problem before they went in to engine. eric at merchant has pointed out mech's do not tighten connections after inj. replacement before.

I knew it was a problem on the 03's, so it is a problem!

I did some reading on here so i knew about this issue on the LLY engines, but i had never heard of it on the LB7's. It just seems too strange that this should happen immediately after the injector replacement. Yes its possible but its still strange. It really sucks cause they already told me i'm on the hook to pay for the new harness and the labour.
