I am new to running diesels and I would like to get better fuel mileage and have more power. I am just looking for quick or small changes if there are any. I am going on a 1600 mile round trip in a couple weeks and will be pulling a 22ft enclosed and I would like to do better than 10mpg if possible. Right now I get around 13 during normal driving.
Or would I be better off selling the HPT and buying a ppe or bully dog?

PPE from the post here seem good. Some get a couple more miles better but it depends on the HP they choose. Some get good with say 70hp. Others say they are better MPG with the 140hp tune. I dont recall the exact HP for PPE but that is an example. Dont know anything about HP Tuner so cant say but would think some one may tune with it and sell some tunes to help. Most seem to go EFILive. A few good programmers here for that. Exhaust might help but would be more helpful on EGTs when towing. I myself improved a bit with exhaust but did the EFILive tune at the same time. About 2 miles better. But also got rid of the DPF at the same time.
