What are you guys seeing in the way of rear squat vs. weight on your 2500's? I'm trying to rough guestimate the pin weight of my 5'er. I'm getting ~2.5" of squat hitched up. I'm going from 41" to 38.5", my front end used to be at 38.5" before I leveled it so I believe I'm in the ball park, but want to see how much head room I have.

I tried posting this in the towing forum and all I got was a couple dually guys freeking out telling me I need more truck......

Really if you want to maintain your ride and control performance you are going to want helper bags to help with the weight. After that you want to fill the bags up till you are just under dry spec'd height.

I.E:

No load rear fender sits 45"

With trailer fender comes down to 42"

Add air in the helper bags till you retain fender height to 44.25"-44.5"

This will keep the stance and not put your rear springs in the over load to far and make the ride act weird.

Hope this helps....oh yea....get a bigger truck...haha, :joke: !!:)

Just got my air bags last night, they are part of the plan since my camper sits kinda low anyway. I've got 2" of adjustment left in the camper shackles so I'm going to raise the camper and raise the truck back to 41". This should help my ground clearance and ride.

Of course we both know the bags don't increase your max axle load....before any of your pesky dually club members jump my butt :D

That was joke and only a joke.......please don't be offended.

Perfect!!

Oh and I did forget to say, my point is be careful and don't exceed you original fender height because then you deload the leaf spring pack and shackles and then the truck will really act funny;)
