During my daily drive to work today, my engine had a spudder around 1500 to 1800 rpm. Felt like I lost power. (Did it a couple of times) I also noticed that theres not much visible exhaust smoke as I've seen in the past, if I hit the peddle. The truck has 45k, and I change the fuel filter every 10-15k and use injector cleaner every couple of tanks. The problem has seemed to go away, but the power seems less than before. Was wondering if this could be a fuel filter or injector issue? No indicator lights came on during time. Called dealer. Just looking for additional information. Thanks

could be a lot of things, bad fuel or maybe some gelling maybe if it was cold where you are...

less power then before is definetely winter fuel if all else is fine and it does sound like all else is fine. Treat the tank, change the filter again.

are you using a arco or some bottom shelf diesel? gelling could be the cause if its freezing temp.. maybe run some 911 though it. that may move what ever gook you have building up. maybe park it in the garage and get it warm.

Yes to the Arco fuel, and yes to the change out of my fuel filter. Once that was changed the problem went away. Changed the fuel filter for $22.00 ( Baldwin BF8727 ) and added treatment to tank. Seems to be running just fine. Is the Arco fuel not something to use ? Thanks for the information.
