putting the stock muffler BACK on...if you want to do that why take it off in the first place?
straight pipe is illegal in most states and all of canada.
removal of certified emmisions equipment or the making inoperable of is also illegal in all 50 states and canada.
does that answer your question?

Blue, don't quote me on this, but in SOME states a Turbo is considered a muffling device :)

In other words removing emissions equipment is illegal, Has it stopped many people from doing it anyways? No, but if your going to remove any emissions equipment don't post about it. As for the stock muffler, its a water heater, junk it and get a straight thru design muffler.

green you are correct however in ontario it states that as well, i checked with the MTO and they said that the law is in place for the purposes of trains and heavy duty trucks...light duty and medium duty trucks and all cars MUST possess a muffling device, Turbos excluded

Not all 6.5 had a Cat on them. Neither mine or my dads have one on it.

Nope, there are no sensors in our exhaust systems, piece of cake.
