I was thinking of going back to an LB7 for the fun factor. Do you think that is a wise decision or will the LLY's catch up?

There is more hp upgrades out for the LB7. As of right now the LB7 is winning the HP war but only time will tell if the LLY is to catch up.

I wouldnt jump the gun just yet. The VVT on the LLY would make it worth the wieght to me (more boost at wot and more boost across the board)

i would also agree, less time for the manufacturers to make things for the LLY's in another year once they have been out long enough i would picture lots more add ons for the LLY's.

Stock the LLY's are rated for more than the LB7. More hop up parts are available for the LB7 and they have been around longer to test/perfect. From the look of McRat, the LLY is only 35HP behind the LB7 on No2 only. I have a feeling that the LLY will pass the LB7 by the middle of summer (as someone previously stated though, time will tell).

i don't think so because he isn't making those numbers on just straight chips i think the LB7 will continue to make more hp than the LLY. I think the LLY is still a long way from the LB7. Like 100hp off. This is just my findings from both Quadzilla and PPE hot chips.

We are about 50 hp off from the lb7's on no. 2 only. Predator and Van akken will yeild right around 440-445 hp at the wheels. As soon as the 1093 issue gets sorted out I beleive that the lly will surpass the lb7 on no. 2 only.....IMHO.

I've had both with same chips and extras , and i still feel my LLY has "lag" from the get go but pulls hard on top. If i could find a late 04 LB7 i would trade in a heartbeat !

From my readings here, if you are going to get a LB7, and plan on modifying it, I would try to get one without cat converters, for possible emission testing down the road.

Wish I had known that a couple weeks ago.:)

I just traded in my 04 LB7 for an 05 LLY... So far, I really like the new engine. There's a few things that they changed for 05 that I miss (Instant Econ guage, Overall Econ gauge, and some of the other digital display functions).

The only complaint I really have about the new engine is the mileage -- With all that extra power, I want to put my foot in it and keep it there. And with diesel nearing the 3$ a gallon mark here in SoCal.... Ugh... :(
