Hey folks,

Gotta ask - as I'm obviously missing something... Got my new oil cooler lines (desperately needed now); how do you loosen the rear fittings - without breaking the tubes off the back of the block?

I'm thinking I'm stuck removing the steering shaft to make enough room to get my hands on the wrenches so I'm not bending those hard lines... But I really think there's got to be an easier way...

Thanks in advance,

crawl under the truck and take the oil filter and filter adapter off, that'll give acces to the oil line fittings

I had the same problem. I cut my hard lines and ran hydraulic hoses straight to the block.

I just laid under the truck and loosened the lines and removed them from under the truck. When I put them back in, I fed them down from the top and then laid under again and got them connected again. It took a bit of wiggling and having someone to turn the lines from the top side really helps with getting things lined up for re-connection.

Good luck.

I put a set of factory (expensive) ones on mine a couple years ago and remember it not being pleasent but pretty straight forward. Maybe different years?
