I'm new to diesel and always knew that gas engines needed backpressure. So straight piping a gas engine actually hurts it. Are there any negative effects to straight piping a diesel? I have an 07 LBZ and just want to make sure I'm not hurting anything since I've straight piped it. Thanks for your help.

Search it. Many people run a straight pipe, less backpressure the better, for the most part. Negatives could be noise/sound depending what you like.

It will not hurt because your engine has a turbo charger which creates backpressure..

Hasn't hurt mine yet :D. Your truck will be fine if you straight pipe it.
