I have done business with him and he was extremely helpful . He replied back quickly on any tech questions I had . I know there are a lot of suppliers , but from my experience ( although short ) with any of the suppliers on this site , you also couldn't go wrong with any of them . I always say do business with those that are always around after the sale , and these guys are always dishing out free advice . Purchasing from one of them only contributes back to what they have done for us "less knowledgable " ones .

When I decided to purchase my exhaust system, I called three of the vendors that sell systems. I had a couple questions about the systems that were available.
This was also a chance to see what kind of customer service they provided.

I called each one, and said "I am ready to purchase right now but I have a couple questions if you don't mind"

One gruffly said "It's all on the website" (It wasn't) I said thank you politely and hung up.

One answered my questions but didn't have the system in stock.

And the last one was friendly, patient, and had the system in stock. I ordered it. That was Walt at SS Diesel.

I had problems making the system work in my application and I had to fool with it, but I still feel good about the experience.

I have gotten things from several different 6.5 vendors and will go to whoever has what I need, but when I need something, I do look at the ones I have had good luck with first. As has been said before, any of the people who advertise here are good to deal with I am sure.

Just my experience since ya asked!

The only product I don't care for of theirs is the intake for the 6.5t. It doesn't box off the intake from hot under hood air. You could always fab up a box yourself but it would be nice if it was available as an option. Otherwise I have yet to hear/read anything bad about these Buffalo boys but many on this site and others have had many positive post regarding them and the way they do business.

Almost all my Mods are from SS diesel Supply. He was MY "diesel place" until I actually found the Diesel Place. He is very knowledgeable and has NEVER failed to return any of my e-mails. I never even bought anything from him and he answered all my questions months before my actual purchases. Walt will always have my support as I need parts.

My experience from Walt has been postive, I have to credit him for finding this site. Walt and Steaksauce where bickering back and forth and Walt gave a list of the sites that he (A-1 Customs)was banned from. I checked them out and and here I am. I guess I felt I owed him one http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif.

Got some glow plugs and a lift pump from J Kennedy just cause I like his dedication to the site.

When I need the remote mount (FSD) it will come from Heath as I like the idea of putting it in front of the radiator and a 7 yr warranty.

I ve bought a few items from some of the vendors here. And its just a mimic of what everyone else has send. One vendor told me the same thing. The info is on the site, but I wasnt sure if he knew exactly what I was asking. So I repeated the question in a different way. Which made me realize, I should buy from someone else that knows there own product. Bill Heath has been very informative, I have his trans booster, though I bought it used from someone. The person I bought it off of , called Bill and gave him my address and Bill sent me the instructions for it. Funny thing is they both arrived the same day. I ve also called walt when I first bought my truck. I found him on ebay. Walt was very informative and spent a great deal of time explaining to me some of the quirks they have. Customer Service/Support award for me would be a tie between Bill and Walt. Both are gentlemen and good sales reps. They know thier products and back them up with warranty most others dont. I havent dealt with all the vendors out there, but these few I have personal experience with.

My 2 cents

steiner43511---did changing your tires from 245-75-r to 265-75-r make any problems for the abs system or anything else for that matter? I have a 97 6.5 suburban that I'd like to go up 1 size tire on, but I heard you can run into problems!!

Thanks Greg Carter Vermont

I have 285's on my 97 3/4 4x4 and have had no problems. On the metric conversion chart they turn out to almost a 33 in tire. Had my speedo checked via my cop buddys radar and found I was only 2 mph off.
