I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 3/4 Ton Diesel and I just bought a Host Slide in Truck Camper.

I was told to install a 40A fuse in the underhood fuse panel and It would charge my batteries in the camper.

I seen some other people talking about draining your truck batteries. My camper is wired to stop from draining the truck batteries at a certain point.

I went and asked the GMC dealer if there was a fuse for this and he came back with a 40A fuse and said here you go.

My question is where in the heck do I put this 40A fuse in that underhood fuse panel. My truck manual says nothing that I can find.

Appreciate any help.

Fuse location "Stud 1"....

Search is your friend - there are about 50 threads about this very question. :)

Are you sure that your camper is isolated so that it won't drain the truck batteries? There is no provision for this on a DuraMax truck, although the GM gas engine trucks with the optional 2nd battery (RPO TP2 IIRC) DO have an isolator.

Just checking - it's a bitch to jump a diesel when the batteries are dead because the camper drained them down - not that i know anything about that! :D
