Ok im looking at buying a Duramax and now im curious about mileage. One of the trucks i have been looking at is a 2001 4x4 Crew Cab it has 146K on the clock ? how bad is this ? thier only asking 18500 for the truck that is why im considering it.

Do a vin check and see about service records and so on. If the truck was taken care of, it shouldn't be a problem. If there's very little service records, I'd be leary.

I bought my 01 last year for 21k. It had 90k when I bought it. GREAT TRUCK!! GREAT DEAL!! It was really taken care of before I bought it. All highway miles too.

As long as the truck has been looked after, it should be fine. Diesels are designed for higher milage.

Mine now has 130k. Just replaced the belt, the shocks, the upper ball joints, and am waiting on a fuel pressure regulator to come in. I love the truck and will drive it until the big pieces fall off.

Tel9000,

If yours is a 4x4, were you doing regular grease gun maintenance on those upper ball joints or was just it something that slipped past you, then got you?

Thanks.
