I have 265 Mickey Thompson tires. The front has 38 and rear has 40. Does this seem right for the Duramax? It is a crew cab short bed. The label on the door has 55 for the front.

Off hand your pressures look a little low. It probably also depends on precisely which Mickey Thompson tire you're running and if you are towing or how you like the ride or how much benefit in fuel economy you are looking for. You can run as high as 80psi in the back with some 265s, but 60psi might be more comfortable.

With more info I might suggest 55 & 80.

My 285's won't run flat on the ground in the rear unless I drop the tire pressure to 35pounds. This is with an empty bed of course. I keep my rears at 35 and fronts at about 40 psi. You've got a smaller tire though so you may need some more air than me.

I run about the same as waskier in my 285's (last truck anyway, havent gotten enough rubber off the factory pizza cutters yet to swap)

factory tires are e-rated and carry 80 psi, obviously the mickey's aren't rated for that. Just curious if you're pulling a heavy load, how do the tires do?

The 265 Baja Radial MTXs are D-rated with a maximum psi of 80. Obviously we should be careful as to who we listen to.;)

Check the sidewall of the tire for the max pressure at the max load and adjust from there.

I run 60 psi in the fronts & 40 psi in the rears unloaded, & have been getting very even tire wear.

What would be a good psi for the front and back for comfort for a cc with 285 bfg mt. Thanks for the input.

I run 55/55 unloaded and 60/80 towing a 5th wheel with a 2850 lb. pin weight.

This is with Toyo 265 75R 16/E tires.
