Hello everyone, I am new here and read alot of posts before posting my own. I am new with modifications to the duramax seeing I just bought one last monday and wanting to modify it pretty soon. Just a question, How come there aren't more people talking about Banks Six Gun packages, Are they not worth it, or worthy of the Dmax. Just wondering because I have a buddy that is a Banks dealer and I can get everything at cost. What would be the best bang for my bucks, EDGE, Predator, Banks, etc.. BTW, I am not a newbie to mechanics, I work offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on diesel and natural gas gensets and compressors as big if not bigger than my trucks on a 14 and 14 schedule. Thanks for the time and yall have a great forum that I hope to learn alot from.

Where banks looses out is their price. I have not ever owned a banks product....it seems people either love them or hate them. In my personal opinion from research I beleive they over promise and under deliver. Right now I think the predator is the best bang for the buck. I have the edge, bully dog, van akken and the predator. I run the big predator as my daily driver.....I have my tranny done though...this is a bad idea on a stock trany. So in my opinion you can't beat the predator for the price.

Oh yeah...welcome to the place!!!!:ro)

I have the Banks and it's been ok. At first, I was very dissatisfied, but that soon changed. Others have had problems, but so far smooth sailing on my end.(knock on wood) Each have their own opinion, but personally, they cannot comment until they have driven a vehicle equipped with X product. The predator is a great product and best bang for the buck. I have driven the predator on my truck (40hp) and feels great on the low-end. Banks is opposite; kicks in higher in the rpm range.

Banks Spends big $$$$ to R&D the best 'Package' with the least compromises in mind for the people who want power, but not obscene power from their Diesel.

Yes it can be percieved as more $$$ for less HP, on the other hand it can be viewed as one stop shopping. Intake, Exhaust,Speedloader,6 gun, Exhaust brake, CAC , Wastegate etc etc etc.

Maybe not the most powerful, they DO offer perhaps the most comprehensive upgrade catalog for each marque of diesel.

Look at any of their Upgrades. Dodge, Frod, Chevy.
They do make it relatively simple for the non mechanically inclined.

They do the best they can without overstressing drivelines, turbos etc.

I prefer edge/banks to the programs like predator because of switch on the fly and trans/EGT protection offered by banks /edge. I had Edge for a while but it was too twitchy for me. When someone else drove my truck they complained about it being hard to accelerate smoothly. Since then, I have installed banks Six-gun and am very happy with it. Banks doesn't have anything now to compete with the attitude but the PDA for banks is in the works and will offer code reading and clearing plus much more. I think tuner for tuner banks and edge are close in price banks does offer kits that run much more. You see less banks because it was just released for the LLY and edge has been out for quite a while. If you can get Banks for cost, I would be comfortable recommending it.
