all depends on your setup, guys with Lots of power run in D or 3, I always run in 3.

4LO is a Must when sled pulling. and get the sled moving and once you've gone about twenty feet let it eat and hammer down the whole way til you pop a p0093/p0087/p1093/ or loose traction. LOL

put it an 4low and 2 and when you get ur rpms up shift to 3, dont let off, some ppl line it off the line others ease off the line, depends on the track and ur set-up

3rd gear from the start 4lo tighten the chain getting rolling and mash it. if you've got serious h.p. then talk to the likes of burkhard and tomac.

4 low, 3rd gear, see green flag, stand on it. once you start to understand your truck, then maybe build a little heat(boost) at the line. 4 gear is used by feel, or tack light, or when ever you shift it. need power. if your truck doesnt like 3rd gear, need more power

yeah at that time the t-bars were all the way up to clear 33's i had alot of issue with figuring out the front end i let the t-bars do later in the season and then started have toein problem no matter how many times i had it aligned

With my old setup I would run 4lo, T/H OD canceled and in 3rd gear letting the trans do all of the work. I eased out of the hole until it hit 3rd gear due to crappy torque management tuning.

It worked well for me, the tune I ran all year dynoed 480hp and 880lbs of torque i believe. just by cutting back the pulse width and adding a few more degrees of timing I bumped that to 512hp and 1085. Really wish I wouldve done that at the beginning of the season.

This new setup I have no idea how I will run it.

Thats the thing with pulling, every pull is different and you have to get a feel for your truck, the different sled operators and the different tracks.

Seems like once you get used to it, your setup changes and your back to square one.
