Looking for suggestions or photos of where you have yours mounted to be least intrusive...

Thanks

Well since I have an LS, I mounted mine below the little "cubby hole" just to the left of the ashtray. It works well for me--I'd post a pic, but I still need a digital cam!

I'll work on it...

Thanks B B DMAX...I forgot to mention I don't have a center console...

Coyote: My cubby hole is above the ashtray to the right in my 01

Put mine at the very right edge of the panel that's unnder the dash. Mounted pretty much like WanaDmxsub did, only like I said, to the right edge of that panel. I'd be giving the controller a boot every time I got in and out if I center mounted it.

I mounted mine in the small opening to the left of the ashtray. I made a small bracket out of 12ga and it works great. Easy to reach, easy to see and best of all I never hit my leg on it.

Mine is also in the same spot except 4-5 inches over towards the pass side, as I do not have the center console. I did not want to drill holes, so I used one of the small orange handled wood clamps (like a large clothes pin) that holds the Prodigy bracket to the bottom of the dash. You cannot see the clamp, as it tucks under the dash.

I'm thinking where Zorg has his but I'm worried if the center passenger might kick it by accident...

Mounting it tommorow... thanks guys...

I might be selling my Tekonsha sentinel if anyone is interested...

Works great for me because I have the 6-speed and never have a center passenger. :D

I mounted mine just above the e-brake pedal on the bottom of the dash. no new holes drilled. I had to relocate my ODBII plug, but it looks great there and dosen't get in the way of me getting in or out of my truck.

It sounds like I've got mine where maynard has his...he just did a better job of describing it.

I don't have the Prodigy, so I am not sure of the size of it, but I mounted my brake controler in the ash tray spot. I don't smoke and I don't carry any money with me to put in the ash tray(I am married with kids).
I can reach it easily without leaning forward and it is out of the way of knees.

I did the same as Zorg(I think). Here's some pictures (http://207.53.239.181/%7Eterry/truck/prodigy/) of mine.

hope this helps,

T.

I just put my prodigy in the factory mounting holes. It does'nt interfere at all.

Above the e-brake peddle but up high, almost level with with armrest.Easy to see and adjust. The Prodigy can be mounted up to 70 degrees off horizontal.Other trucks I would mount to the right of steering wheel and down low but never was comfortable with the positioning.Got it right where it belongs this time.

Personally I like Terry's install, mostly because of the great pictures and that is where I have always located my brake controller. The other installs may work just as well, just make sure the controller is securely mounted and within reach without having to shift or move in your seat. :exactly:

Roegs, recommend you mount that bad boy! Hopefully you will never encounter a situation where you have to find that brake controller in a hurry. You certainly don't want to rely upon a clamp that might pop off if you grab or hit the controller too hard or fast in an emergency. ;) Safety first! Later. JJ :)
