Should the built in brake controller work from factory or does something have to be hooked up? Mine does'nt work no matter if i run gain up to 10.

The only thing that is not hooked up from the factory is the accessory wire (to charge a trailer battery etc.), but the brakes, turn signals, trailer lights should all be there. My guess would be the the trailer or trailer wiring is the culprit. You do have a trailer hooked up don't you? :D j/k | ||
