How many of you gasser guys have put H2s on your 6 liter, and how did it turn out?

i dont see why the rims would matter what engine size you have. the height of the tires is the only thing that matters. i have 285s on my truck and have no problems. a slight decrease in mpg (about .3-.5 lower) but it still has plenty of power and acceleration.

I was just wondering what the 315's would do to the 6L, having the 4. 10 reareand I wasnt sure if it would hurt the milage that much?

I have the chrome H2's on my 04...Running 265/70/17 Toyo's ...I would have to say that I noticed a drop in total miles per tank of gas , Maybe 30-40 ..Also noticed A little more effort on the 6.0L starting out from a stop ... I didn't have to trim anything up front (airdam ,fender well ) ...I think thats because the H2 wheels are 8.5 " with a 5.5" back set ....Looks sweet on my black truck and rides nice too !!

are your tires close to 34 or 35 inches tall? Comparable to the stock H2s?

No ,

They are only 31.5 " in diameter and I think 10" wide.....

315's are a little much for the truck IMO. I put on 285 BFG's on 16 x 8 Wheels with a 4.5 inch backspace. It works fine with a very small amount of rubbing, but it does take away a little power. If I were to do it again, I would probably go with 265's on stock rims and be done with it. Maybe getting too old.....

JRKRACE ,

I would have to agree with you . I chose the 265/70/17 (31.6") over the 265/75/17 (32.6") with both of these tires having the same 10.4 " width because the 70 series tire was barely 1" larger than the stock 245/75/16 (30.4")....
I think what effects my low end take off has more to do with the H2 wheel weighing in at roughly 40#'s a piece vs 22#'s for the stock ....
So , together the 1" larger tire and the heavier wheels do have a slight affect on MPG and power ...
Oh , and I noticed that my ABS does not like it either when braking hard ...
Still tows my 27' TT like a bat out of hell though !!!!
