Friend of mine just bought a 04' PS 250 CC 4X4, he also bought a 33' fiver to pull behind it! He went on his first trip with the camper and the rear end squatted bad from the weight (12,000 to 14,000 lbs). He was told from the stealer that it was caused from the springs and they would repalce the springs because all the 04' 250's have weaker springs than the 05's. Is this for real?

Tell your buddy to buy some air bags. With that much weight any truck will squat.

I think what he is saying is taking all things in consideration it had way too much squat. The dealer told him it was a common problem with the 04's.

What was your buddys pin weight? It should be between 1800 to 2520 lbs. Those numbers are 15-18% of 12-14000 lbs. 15-18% is what the pin weight on a fiver should be. 2500 lbs is alot of pin weight on a 3/4 ton truck but should still be in the weight rating of his truck. He may have way more pin weight than that. Yes the 04 is a very different truck than the 05 they changed alot of things between model years.
