Today I was in a hurry trying to beat a deadline mowing. I was pulling my 14' tandum trailer loaded with mowers and other equipment, and came to a few stop signs pretty hard on the brakes. Evidently I din't have the brake controller set right and when I came to a final stop I got out of the truck and the left rear brake was smoking! After a few minutes it stopped, and I adjusted the brake controller and went on my way. Did I hurt anything? Should I have the brakes checked? Truck has around 85,000 miles and as far as I know the brakes are original. I bought the truck at 30,000 miles.

And with the seal being gone, you'll need parking brake shoes and probably rear pads, due them all being soaked in axle lube.
email me if you are looking for a place in Raleigh.
Might could work something on the side too, I got a big yard :)

is the axle seal something you can see leaking by looking for it?

look inside the rear wheels, the calipers, and backing plate, if it is leaking you'll know it. you'll probably smell it as well.
