I put a fresh ip on my truck 3 or 4 months ago. Within the last few weeks, it is sometimes hard to start and others fires right up. Went to work friday, no problem, left work friday no problem, Stopped somewhere on my way home, got back in my truck and tried to start it, PROBLEM. It wouldn't start. Turning over but no start. Got it towed home, and started messing with it, put a matco scanner on it and nothing cae up, not even history codes. I forgot to mention that sometimes when I would start it the s.e.s. light would stay on for a second then go off. I started messing around with it again today, tried starting it a few times and still no start. I put the scanner back on it and it is now throwing a po216 at me. Where do I start looking? I have read different post on here, some say stepper motor, some say timing is out. Thanks in advance.

Thats a Stepper Motor Code. Just had the same problem after my IP got replaced. Check connections on Stepper Motor. It is pretty close to the IP. Check Male and Female.

The dealership when they installed my IP messed up the female connection but you might have a bad Stepper Motor too. Its 175.00

That's what I was thinking by reading other posts. I still have my old pump. I will take it off that one and try it. I don't remember seeing that code before I swapped pumps. Thanks for the help.

I put the stepper of the other pump on there. It turned over for a while and finally fired up. I let it run for a while, killed it and again, it took a second but it fired up. And that's it. Won't start anymore. I put the scanner back on it, and it threw a po216 pending code.
