If an injector causes an engine failure, is the engine repair covered or not? I would think and hope it would be, since the injector would be the direct cause for failure.

Ours was. Injector stuck open, taking a piston and rob out. New engine from GM, and a free rental. We were moving from Ft Benning Georgia to Ft Richardson Alaska at the time. Two week turn around. 11,000 on the truck, so we were within all warranty limits.

Yes it will. If the failure washes out your crank bearings, they will tear it down completely and rebuild from the ground up.

But will they do it if it is outside the 100k engine warranty?

That's what I was getting at. Sorry about that

The pump is also covered till 200k, right?

The 200k warranty is only for 01-02 injectors that have high fuel return rates due to fuel injector body cracks or ball seat erosion. Engine damage would probably have to inspected and approved by area rep. The pump is not included in this special policy.
