Anbody using one of the stealth boxes that fit behind the rear seats in the crew cabs? I need some opinions on how they sound. I have a pretty highend system already installed, except that my subs sit on the smaller portion of the seat folded down. Althoug it sounds good, it looks ghetto and takes up seat space. Let me know what you guys think of these type boxes.

I had doug at Auto Dynamics (manitowoc wi) do a custom box for me. We have 3) 6.5" JL's ported to the corner. Works quite well and fits neatly behind the crew cab seat.

build a custom box. Way cheaper and you'll be able to make what you want. You going ported or sealed? You can PM me if you want some help with it. If you have a drill and access to a table saw and a calculator its pretty easy.

Has anyone had the Back seat out of a NBS yet? I want a box behind the seat instead of under it. Figured Id ask before I started pullin mine out to see if there is room.

there is enough room for amps behind the seats in the nbs i dont know if you could fit anything back there im sure someone can make something but it is very limited on space.

I had to shim my seat up about 2 Inches for my 12's to fit. Mine is just an extended cab.. You should have no problem finding a box that will work at a pawnshop or installation station. You have got a lot of room.

Ive built many a box, and am currently building a huge pro audio setup that is taking up my time, which is why I was looking at the prebuilt stuff for ease of install. Maybe I will go ahead and DIY, since I already got all the tools/wood out.

I like the one that goes under the center console and replaces the oem subwoofer, on the NBS trucks, this is route I was planning on taking.

I would go with the custom box. That is what I have. Two eights in a sealed box. Sounds really good. If you want a pic let me know.

the center console 10 stealth box IMO works great and used with other subs under the back seat works well to fill the cab with bass instead of it feeling like it all comes from behind you ps while installing it use dynamat or some kind of sound dampener or youll just be pulling every thing out in a week or two to re do it !

I just bought a JL Audio stealth console system the biggest you can go is the 10" tho, sound is great and I have all my stock space left for storage.. They only way to go if you dont want to mess with stuff.

I tried to make a system work behind the back seats but theres just not enough space, and these guys in town work on $300k cars all day, and they said no way.

for clean sounds, sound deadener is a must, especially in these trucks, if you want a lot of bass you need the biggest box you can get, i've been running my small seat folded down too with a 1.75 cubic ft. ported 12w7. behind the seat and under the seat boxes are not going to produce quality hard hitting bass, especially not the prefabbed ones. most i've seen are about .6 cubic ft per 10" sub, which gives you no room or mounting depth for powerful subs. you will need to shim the seat and build a custom box, go blowthrough to the bed, or custom console, or lose a seat to get the airspace needed to create the bass you and i both know you want.

i would also reccomend sealing up your doors to get the most out of your mids, sealing it up and deadening the doors will make a night and day difference. deadening the rear wall will seriously help with the bass too.
