: ZF Billet Badge

I contacted Steve at www.billetbadges.com (http://www.billetbadges.com/) about making a billet badge for us handshakers. The badge would look similar to the picture attached. The corners would be radiused, the part in blue would be machined, leaving the "ZF" raised and the "Six Speed" would be recessed.

Steve quoted $32 for unpainted and $37 for painted. This price is for the domed badge.

Let me know what you think!

looks good to me, but I would like to see one before I commit to it.

Is light blue and white the company's colors?

MaxRock

Yes, blue and white are ZF's colors. I contacted ZF about a badge/label for us handshaker to proudly display. They did not have anything that I was intersted in, but sent a large square decal that is just like the ZF portion of the badge.

The colors on the .jpg are not 100% accurate. If we do decide on a badge, I'll work with MaxRsmart on the correct color.

You can look at ZF's website http://www.zf.com/na/defaultz.asp for their logo. Let me know if you have any questions.

I would go with the painted version, a little more money but, I proud of the fact that I'm not too old to do my own shifting, plus at 59 I'm still coordinated enough to do it myself. I LIKE IT!!!!!!!:cool2:

The difference would be the blue areas will be machined and painted blue. The white areas will be polished billet aluminum. I can make a rendering if there is enough interest. If you have any questions, send me an e-mail at maxrsmart@cox.net

I could work on a rendering of the badge if there is interest. It would be similar to the badges pictures at the bottom of this thread.

I will most likely get one (actually two) as long as it is well made, will hold the paint, and looks good.

I have had people from all over the Country tell me that they have held up very well. I have checked with customers that deal with salted roads and they haven't had any problems. I use a 6063 billet aluminum, which is a marine grade that resists oxidation and pitting. The paint I use is a baked enamel that is baked at 350* and is very durable. On badges that need to be color matched to the truck, I only use automotive grade paint. You don't have to take my word for it, here is a review on Truck Blog. Read some of the comments from customers.

I think you made a set for Palmer Livestock over at the kydtr. I think will get you to make a set with Duramax ontop and ZF 6 speed on the bottom.

MaXRSmart;
those look really cool! what are the dimensions you are planning for the ZF 6-SPEED badge/ The reason I ask is that I think it would look best if mounted above the DURAMAX DIESEL badge it were somewhat shorter. Just my opinion.

It will be 6" long which is the same length as the factory Duramax badge. The difference will be in the height. The ZF badge will be 1.5" tall, which is taller than the Duramax badge. But it will be the exact same size as the Duramax badges that I am making. :D

I'm not a fan of that blue...but I would think that black background with chrome lettering would be sweet

You can have them painted black, red, dark blue, etc if you want. We can even paint them to match the color of your truck at a small extra fee. You can also save some money and get them unpainted and paint them yourself any color you want.

I'll take one if you paint it Victory Red to match my truck.

Sure, but there is added cost to have it painted a custom color.

Now I haven't done anything with this badge because I haven't had anyone actually commit to wanting them. Let me know if your interested, and want to place an order. Thanks.

What do I have to do to get two made and what would be the cost of two of them Painted Victory Red in place of the blue and all the rest machined Alluminum. If you want you can PM and let me know what you think if you want. Any thoughts you have are by far welcome. You most likely know what looks the best better than me but I want one.:driver: :ro)

Any more updates on this? I would probably get a couple, but I'd like to see the finished product first. I'm a Ford guy, but I do have a ZF 6 speed in my truck.

There hasn't seem to be much demand for these, but I finally got someone that wanted to order a set. So I will be working on a set later this week and painting them over the weekend. I should be able to post pictures next week.

I will post pics as soon as I can. This first set will have a flat face instead of the domed face because that is what the customer wanted.

I want 3 and I want them to look just like that I think thats looks great good job. How much is 3 gonna cost and and how do I get a hold of you to get them. PM me or post the cost but either way I would like 3. Also what is the size? Is it the same size as the O.E.M Duramax badge?

Thanks
Nathan

They measure 1.5" X 6" which is the same size as the Duramax and Allison badges that are on the Billet Badge website. If you would like to order a set, go to billetbadges.com and fill out the order form. On the order form select the "1.5" X 6" " badge and in the text field input "ZF 6 Speed". If you want the text painted, select the custom paint color check box. In the "Additional Information" section, you can input any other information you want to add. The prices will be as they are listed on the order form. There will not be any additional charge for the custom blue paint.

It looks like I may have created a little confusion with this statement. If you want the optional painted text, there will be the charge to paint them, but not an additional fee for the custom blue paint. Sorry for any confusion.:o:

The badge price is for a machined badge without painted text. This is so you can either save money and paint them yourself, or have the acetone look with unpainted text. If you want the optional painted text, there is an additional charge to have the badges painted for you. You can have up to 2 colors for that fee. There is no additional charge for basic generic colors like black, red, white, etc. There might be a custom color paint fee if you want it to color match your truck or have some exotic color. Usually the charge is just for the cost of the paint.
