IT HAS BEEN SOLD!

Bummer. It was kinda hard to find a reg. cab 4x4 Dmax with bells and whistles. We did, and I have a GM in the driveway cert. in hand. I know I can order, but bye bye $2500 rebate, and bye bye GM in the driveway cert. And the more I thought about it the more I wanted an LB7.

Just was not meant to be I suppose.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

Well get on GMBuypower.com and find one. If you work hard enough (search every zip code in the country if you have to) you will likely find what you want -- color and all.

I wound up with a Suburban from Gunn Chevrolet in San Antonio one time -- great folks.

highonpsi, you can find one, just have the dealer search far and wide.. Usually they'll only search in-state, or within ~500 miles. The truck you want is out there somewhere!

I got the last '03 left in western Canada (reg. cab with all the bells & whistles) but there should be '04s galore.

They really had to search for mine, I wanted reg cab, 4wd and 6 speed and rubber floors, that last one was the hard part, well that and the 6 speed.

I was also being very specific (hard headed) when looking for my truck. Had 2 sold out from under me (so they said) The 3rd one (which I did get) I found on GMbuypower while it was in transite to the dealer. I had to wait close to a week just for it to get to the dealer. Hang in there, don't give in, load the zips into a word doc so that you only have to type them once and the one you want will show up. Or, you could order one.......then watch as you will start seeing them everywhere.

I had my salesman looking for one, he found about a dozen of them in the northeast. Every time he called on one, the dealership would tell him it was sold or unavailable. Finally I called one of the dealers myself, the truck was still there, (even though they told my salesman it was gone).

I made the deal with them and saved a couple of thousand.

Had to drive 350 miles to pick it up, El-Mor Chevrolet Morgantown PA.

Worth it, great truck, good deal.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big%20Smile.gif

I am living in Alaska and had to buy my truck in Independence MO to get the specs I wanted. Used zip codes and GMBuypower Web Page to find what I was looking for. Found three in the US and started long distance bidding wars - low bidder won. Flying down after Christmas to pick it up and drive it back. Only 3500 miles or so but I am looking forward to the drive. 2500HD Crew DMax/Allison LB with every option available. Silver Birch paint color was the tough part. Options go on ASAP and the posts on this site help immensely.

They still have my truck. I guess the guys at Champion Chevrolet did not want my business. Did not seem like it at the time. I did not go there to waste my time. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Sounds like a good time to pay them a visit and see what's up. Act like your interest has dropped over the last few days to see how they react!!

Trucks still show up on gmbuypower.com for a few days even after they are sold. I had 2 sold out from under me, but they still showed at the dealer a few days later, then they disappeared.

I'm in the NE (tri-state area) and went to a few dealers to see if they could get one elsewhere. No one could, the dealers who have them don't want to trade or give them up to another dealer. They are scarce here. Search out to 200 miles on gmbuypower.com and start calling the dealers that have them. You will find one who will sell you one with the GM Driveway cert. I only had to go 90 miles to get _almost_ what I wanted. Picked it up Sat. Remember, the rebate is now $3500 on 2004. It went up Dec 2.

I wouldn't go back to the dealer you've been going to.. They've already screwed up by misleading you to think that the truck is sold/unavailable to you.

Obviously they want to play games or they would have told you that the truck was still there but they couldn't get a dealer trade.

rp43fan -
where do you see the rebates going to $3,500?
Very interested because I am getting multiple quotes and they all use the $2,500 figure.
Can you direct me to a webpage that gives that info?
(I went to the GM site and looked at the incentives for the Sierra - still $2,500 as I see it)
thanks for any help.

I called the dealership that had the truck personnally. They do have it. So I will try to make the 175 mile trip ASAP. Working 11 hours six days a week makes it hard though.

And what is up with this rebate increase? For 04's till 1/04 still?

Tony,
thanks for the link - but can you clear things up for me?
I see this as for 'Eligible participants under the GM Supplier Discount program' which means ???
I am not a GM Supplier but do have a certificate coming my way on the 'GM in the driveway' program. Does the certificate make me an eligible participant?

BTW - the incentives on the 'consumer' side vary from region to region - a fact that was confusing me as to how others were coming up with larger rebates.

Thanks for your help - and others on the board - this is just the tip of the iceberg for us newborns.

It is a webpage that lists all rebates,

Supplier should be the same as GM in the driveway.

You qualify if I am not mistaken, check with HOWARD.

Thanks Tony -
I fired an email off to Howard and he PHONED me within the hour! Unbelievable.
What a buyer with a certificate needs to do is make sure the dealer will honor the 'GM in the Driveway ' certificate and then make them show you the real invoice. It lists the GM Employee and GM Supplier pricing right on it. As far as the rebate goes the certificate holder should get the amount listed with the Supplier page.

I'll have to look for a link. I didn't know it had gone up either until I walked into a dealer and they told me the rebate was now $3500, not $2500 as I thought. Then they showed me their paperwork from GM which indicated it became effective Dec 2. I think it is good through either Jan 2 OR Jan 12, don't remember which. I'll see if I can find it. It is also valid with the GM in the Driveway cert. There is also another $500 available IF you are really a GM supplier employee, not good if you just have a certificate from someone else. I looked at a number of trucks, and it seems you can figure about $5000 off MSRP for the Supplier price. Mine was a few hundred below invoice. YMMV.

Here's the link. Click your zone on the map. Offers differ by region of country you are in. Make sure you scroll about halfway down the page for 2004. They have the 2003 offers at the top of the page.

Ditto! I guess I was lucky. Howard just happened to be in my neck of the woods a couple of weeks after I received my truck and I got to meet him personally and buy him breakfast. Howard is a great person and enjoyable to talk to. Thanks again Howard!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif
