: Quadrasteer Fenders???
mwswarrior 01-29-2009, 05:15 PM Just a thought out of left field...
I was thumbing through the latest LMC catalog and saw a set of fender skins for the quadrasteer equipped trucks. I thought it would be pretty cool to put them on a short bed for a little more coverage with big tires.
Question: Did the Q-steers have a full 6' bed or the smaller 5' one? Would these work on a 2500HD SB or only on the composite beds?
Thoughts?
MS-Dmax 01-29-2009, 05:33 PM On my 2004 Suburban 2500 w/ quadrasteer, the fenders flares were exactly like on a regular truck except they stuck out about 2.5" more. They also had the maker lights like a dulley (pretty cool looking). I don't think bed length made a difference.
Sure wish I had the quadrasteer on my CC LBZ! Next to the Duramax, I think the quadrasteer was the best thing to ever come out of GM.
ScottyB 01-29-2009, 07:53 PM My Denali has the standard 6'6" box. The 5' box started with the Crew Cab in 2005... but then the QS option was gone by then except in a very few Chev 1500HD trucks.
afuelberth 02-12-2009, 01:11 AM I have a quadrasteer, and am going to buy a set of the flares for the dmax, i'll let ya know how it works out
mwswarrior 02-12-2009, 10:33 AM Are the bed sides on your Q-steer composite or steel?
DURAtotheMAX 02-12-2009, 12:22 PM they are composite I believe. Ive always wanted to put a q-steer bed on my truck and run some spacers on the rear wheels. I think it would look really cool.
TrailerproPop 02-12-2009, 12:48 PM The Quadrasteer bed side is a one piece composite like a dually. Its not going to work on a steel side HD. Im betting the whole Quadrasteer bed would transfer quite easily. Hard to find item, I would say.

why cant you unbolt the steel bedsides and put the q-steer bedsides on?

The steel sides don't unbolt do they? I'm thinking the sides are completly different. I actually wish it would work, they would look great on our pulling truck. I could take the bed off my wife's Quadrasteer, but she would be worse than pissed.
afuelberth 03-12-2009, 02:34 PM No i don't believe they unbolt
Chevy1925 03-12-2009, 03:57 PM the steel bed sides do not unbolt, they are spot welded on and id bet there are close to 200 spot welds on there per side. I would jsut pull the bed sides like i put in my "How To". ITs cheaper but the QS bed sides would be kinda cool. Unless the bedsides come with its own bed rail integrated into the fender then you might run into some problems and alot of work to get them to fit right as the original fenders take teh bed rail with it when you take all the spot welds off and pull the fender off
DURAtotheMAX 03-12-2009, 05:26 PM you can also do suburban quadrasteer fender flares...

afuelberth 03-12-2009, 06:45 PM thats what i'm going to do to....
underPSI 03-12-2009, 08:50 PM ^^Damn. I was hoping somebody would finally do that! I've been searching for those things and can't find them anywhere online or at any local dealership. The parts guys act like they have no clue on what I'm asking for. Do you have any other pics especially one from the rear? I'm wanting to see if a spacer is absolutely needed or not.
Nevermind, I just found your pics on the other site. Damn, those things are a lot wider than I thought!
Duratys 03-12-2009, 09:13 PM Where did you get them from Ben? Junkyard? GM?
Is the wiring for the ligts plug n play?

I got them on ebay; 165 for both of them. :)
They are ridiculously expensive from the dealer, I think almost 300 per side last time I checked? Give them the VIN for a quadrasteer suburban, and then ask for the rear fender flares.
They didnt come with the light wiring, but its just a standard 194 bulb and socket, which you can get at the auto parts store for 3 dollars; no the wiring is not plug and play but it will probably take 5 minutes to splice them into the tail lights.
Ill paint them, put them on, and wire up the lights, and then figure out what size wheel spacers to get. I could also get some aftermarket rims with crazy offset, but im cheap, as if you couldnt tell by my bald 265 terra grapplers and winter-destroyed PYO's!
Ill post pics when I get around to painting them; maybe this week.

Duratys 03-12-2009, 09:59 PM Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like they stick out about 1.5" further than the flares our trucks come with.........
DURAtotheMAX 03-13-2009, 11:35 AM Ill probably get 2.5" spacers or so
