I got a small one from Radio Shack. It was around $40 and there was a coupon on the internet to print that saved you $5 at the time. I picked up a 3 foot fiberglass antenna at the local truck stop and I've mounted it in the stake holder directly behing the cab. I think I had about $30 in that and the piece of coax. I ran the coax into the truck through the vent between the cab and the box.

My neighbor had an SWR meter and I checked it. I was at about 1.4:1 as I remember. Under 1.5:1 is recommended if I recall and 1:1 is what you need to shoot for. The instructions for reducing it are to lengthen the antenna. Since mine just clears the garage door, I obviously don't want to lengthen it. So I live with it. The only thing I use it for is traffic conditions when pulling the camper to give me a heads up on what lane to be in. Also use it when running with the neighbor or a close friend I camp with some times.

I am running dual whips out of my tool box (easier for garage visits, just open the tool box and they fold down) and a PRO XL Uniden (6in x 8in)

It works great, I have had that little radio in all of my trucks since 90'.

It mounted perfectly under my little face plate (the empty plastic piece) on my console. I tapped into the map light in the console and ran the coax up under the passenger side A-pillar.......

My grandpa was cleaning out his shop and gave me a really old booster but haven't installed it...thinking about it (yea I know FCC and all:eek: ).

What I want is a little speaker to go into my middle A-pillar gauge cluster since it is empty anyone have any ideas on it?

or the speaker you can do a 1" or 1.5 tweeter and put the pigtail that plugs into the cb radio onto the end of the speaker wire, might have to get a plug cut for the gauge cut out to make it fit tight and have no gaps.
