After doing several searches, i still could not come up with an answer. This question is regarding the sig truck. While driving around in this snow and ice from the storm here, i noticed my rear end vibrating/shaking terribly while the rear wheels slipped (driving in 2wd). It seemed kind of as if i had axle wrap, or at least what i think that would feel like, but of course that wasnt the issue due to the conditions. It would only do this as the rear wheels were slipping. Is this normal for this to happen or is something wrong with the rear end or locker? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ill try to answer any questions you have about the symptoms as best as possible. Thanks!!

Were you driving through snow or over slippery roads? I get terrible bouncing, like in sand, when I'm in 2 wheel drive driving through loose snow spinning some at low speed.

I was mainly in the snow, some ice, and was going in a straight line ahead (not turning or fishtailing) so the wheels should have been spinning at the same speed. It only did it while the tires were spinning/slipping.

I have noticed that it only does it at slow speeds and when i am barely in the throttle. Could it be that the locker is not fully engaging? Is this normal or a problem that needs to be addressed?

Mine was making a vib. like a tire rubbing noise stopping and starting.Turns out dealer claims they had wrong fluid in it and also made some adjustments with clearance and or play?problem went away and now the freakin thing leaks.Unbeleivable.

I think it's axle wrap or bouncing because of the soft ground. When I spin on hard ground/ice it doesn't do it.

Well, after going up a gravel hill, pulling about 3k trailer, the same symptoms just occurred this evening. I was in 2wd and there was no ice/snow this time. The rear wheels began to slip and then the "vibrations" started. I think im gonna have the stealership look at it cuz its def no working properly.

Pretty sure its not axle wrap though.

I think it's just bouncing on loose surfaces. I've had it happen lots with empty dump trucks and bob tailing big rigs on loose ground.

Could be one side of your rear universal joint going bad.. I seriously doubt it being your truck is an 08', but I would check it first before a warp..
