I'd go with a 4 inch exhaust with cat removal, finger stick and blocker plate. Do this either before or at the same time as putting on a power adder. The finger stick and blocker plate isn't as critical but the exhaust will drop your EGT's a bit which is a good thing with power adders. I recommend the finger stick and plate just to keep the soot out of the intake. As far as trans upgrades if you want to play you're gonna have to pay. I recommend a SC III or ATS III. Someone with more knowledge could guide you better on the tranny upgrade. I personally am going SC IV just for added insurance. Good luck and have fun. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/grd.gif

The exhaust is definately not just for sound. You will notice 100 deg. drop by replacing the stock system with an aftermarket 4" system. You can also remove the CAT with the optional front-pipe which will also help reduce EGT's. These trucks need all the help they can get as they run HOT from the factory. If you are going with a box or programmer, look into the Edge Juice/Attitude or the Predator. Be careful with the higher settings as the WILL damage your transmission. Hope this helps.
