While changing my oil today I noticed that the steering gear box was completely covered in fluid. It does not appear to be oil and I cannot find any spot above the steering box that might be leaking down on to it. I also checked my power steering fluid reservoir and found that it is low. Sooo.....as it appears that my steering gear box is leaking, are there some seals that can be replaced, or do you pretty much replace the whole thing? I've got 61,000 miles on my truck, is it possible that this would be covered under the warranty? Thanks for your help!

Steering gear box went on my 02 Suburban about 2 years ago when it had 65K. Paid through the nose to have it replaced, I just had surgery and couldn't do it for a couple of months so I had to let the dealer do it. If I remember right it cost around $700.

Mine does this too. It's already been in once and they replaced some seals and what not inside, but it still does it. I haven't pursued it any further yet.

I had mine replaced at 52k miles for leaky seals in the box. What gets me though is they put a remanufactured box in there. I wish there was some way to get a brand new box or even a better box from another manufacturer. Anyone know of a place? I know ORU has a box but its for the SFA setup so that doesn't help me right now.
