My truck seems to have no issues at all regarding the EGR codes but I would like to know if it would still be a good move to install the blocker plate?
Thanks

I think its a good idea because it keeps soot from recirculating into the intake. Also, I noticed slightly quicker turbo spool times after installing mine.

There are some pics on this site that show the intake manifold with all the crappy soot making it look like an exhaust manifold. Blocker plate and Finger stick are a must IMHO.

The only downfall to blocking EGR is long-long-term engine life. By blocking the egr off you are creating slightly higher cylinder pressures, which you only the peaks at WOT or close to it. But over long periods of time your 200,000+ mile engine might be reduced slightly, and with aluminum heads it is more of a risk that with iron heads.

So which do you think will reduce engine life more...? Cooled EGR or slightly highter cylinder pressure? Me thinks EGR.

I agree. Why not just have dust continusly fed into your intake?

If we are running any type of programer arent we running the motor harder than stack anyways...(highr cylinder pressures). Most I believe are running to 1350...
I dont know how hot a stock set up gets but I'm geussing somewhat cooler?
Just curiose...
