I currently have 225's on my 19.5's . I would like to do a lift and use my wheels over and go with a larger tire.
What is a good lift for dually's?
I want twin shocks in the front also .
Thanks for any help .

Have not seen the combo, but a 6" lift on your dually should provide more than enough room for the 35.4" tire height of the 285 70's.

The only problem that I see would be rim width. The 285's require a rim that is 7.5" wide. Your welds are only 6.5" and may not be strong enough to support the weight of the tire.

Please consider the 265 70R 19.5's as they are still about 2.2" taller than what you have currently (32.2") and will fit on a 6.75 rim. Your 6.5 wide rims should be fine.

In addition to the lift, Please consider a brake upgrade to stop the additional mass of the wheels and tires.

Good luck with your project and please post some pics when you get the new suspension / tire setup.

Thats what I was thinking. Ive saw a few guys running 245 and they look good. Id like to see a set of 265 or mabey 285s. Those guys running 245s are getting away with a leveling kit. Believe you`ll need a 4-6 lift.

The only thing I had to do for my 245's was turn the stock torsion keys, no additional work necessary....nice and level.

I just put 245's on one of mine....they are to close for comfort imo. I did the cognito uca's, longer bilstein's, & a leveling kit. I have the keys turned too tight right now, not much room between the bumpstop & uca, & like I said it is tight on lock-stop turns, a little ice buildup and it rubs the mud flap. I have a cognito 4-6" sitting in the shop right now that will get installed when I get back home.
The pics in my garage make it look like there is plenty of room between the mud flap and the back of the tire but dont let em fool ya. If I turn the wheel to the lock stop, you cant get a finger between them! I will try to get some better pics of it before the lift is done then some after.

Bridgestone M729F 245/70/R19.5's w/ Rickson Wheels. Just curious what model number from cognito are you using?

The lift is the one that drops the torsions, UCA is universal for 8 lugs, and the 'steins I cant recall the part #, they were the longer ones that replace the short stock shock's. I called Cognito directly & talked to Ronnie, I have called them a few times and he has answered every time. He has been pretty helpful every time I called & seems like he knows his doo-doo!
Are you running those Rickson in all six spots or just the inner's?

id do the 4-6" cognito and you can do the optional ucas and dual shock hoops like you are wanting. im running 34x11s with a 2" crank and trimming, those your wanting to fit are the same width just 1" taller.

Thanks for the responses.
I am running the rickson inners only and then the Weld wheels.

265's and a 4-6 Cognito lift is the way I think I am going to go.
I will post pics when I get it done.
Thanks again

For the best ride I would recommend the 4" Cognito but if you want to save a few bucks then go with the Cognito UCA's, Pitman & Idler Supports and front shocks. We have many customers that come in and other shops have just installed "Keys" and sent them down the road... then they come in and we in stall the UCA's, shocks, and pitman/idler supports and now have a truck that they can drive.

Shocker,

Does the pitman/idler arm support kit take some of the "sloppy" feeling out the steering system? Mine just does not feel right after getting the bigger wheel's & tire's on it.
I have a lift kit sitting in the shop but thought maybe I had better take care of this sloppy feeling first.
