I have a blocker plate that I am getting ready to install in my stock 2006 LBZ.
If I don't install a finger stick will everything function properly except for the code light on the dash? If the finger stick is installed at a later date will the light go out?
I have done a search but cannot find the answer.
Thanks in advance.

Good thing you asked. I just installed a blocker plate on my 2007 LBZ. At first the light came on the dash, but soon disappeared. Then it came back on for about 7-800 miles, then back off again. Now it remains off. You will be happy with the blocker plate. It is an easy install, just watch your knuckles, they will probably get bloody. The turbo whistle seems to be just a little bit higher, as well as the power seems to come on a little faster and harder. The engine will run a little cooler, probably at least 20 degrees. I bought a finger stick that i'm not sure I even need to put in. As far as everything working properly after you put the plate in, everything else will function 100 percent normal. I've heard it could take up to 50 ignition cycles befre the light permanently goes off. I've also heard that the code inside your glovebox will determine if you need a fingerstick or not. Hope that helps.

A PPE tuner will stop that CEL coming on.

Much depends on your vehicle's emissions group. All will set codes, but only some will set SES light. I have a bit of a writeup on my site under Tech Tips/Dmax Tips/ Dmax LLY and LBZ emissions.

I would order both together. put mine in and had CEL lights despite the codes in the glove box. had to go back and order one anyway. Easy to install.

I have been reading the site recently and continue to come across this EGR blocker and fingerstick modification. I've yet to find out what they mean, would someone mind providing an explanation?
Thanks

if the light is on whn the "stick" is installed the lght will stay on and have to be cleared by a Tech II or a buddy with EFILive. If you haveEFILive you can turn the egr function off so it never works and clear the light. The ECU is looking for the EGR o give feed back about airflow so that it an mach tha number with the number from the MAF sensor and also info from the ECT sensor on how much warm up time the truck needs and change the fuel curve accordingly.
alphabet soup, huh!!
basically you are blocking the air from reaching the EGR and it cant tell the ECU how to adjust for warm up. so the truck many run funny when cold and not warm up properly/quickly

Just installed the blocker about 2 weeks ago and I have a CEL on all the time. Cleared it twice but it keeps coming back. Need to install the finger stick but I suck at soldering so I am looking for someone who doesn't to help with the install.
