Hello all, I have been doing some serious reading on egr and diesels, it sounds like that they don't belong together. I have a 2004.5 LLY with 8500 miles and and so far it has been a great truck. My truck right now is stock with no modifications, I was wondering if I need to pu a block off plate for the egr value and install fingers to get rid or DTC's. My truck still has a cat converter and I'm wanting to install a bypass off of the LB7 engine, would this effect any of the exhaust temps and is it needs with the stock exhaust.
Thanks Bart

You don't "need" to change anything, but if you do a search on those topics, you'll find that MANY here (including myself) have used the blocker plate, installed the finger stick to rid the codes, and removed the cat. I don't have an EGT gauge, but reports from "experts" have seen a drop of about 200*.
