i have a 96 6.5 1 ton 4/4 with 4l8o-e every time at 45mph it revs up and and wont go seems fine until 45 mph if i put it 3rd it will go past 45mph

you need to change the shift solenoids in the pan the truck is actualy shifting 1-2-3-1 shift solenoid b has failed it will not set a code drop pan change both shift solenoids

how do change the shift solenoids

take the trans pan off, dump fluid.At the rear of the valve body there is 2 shift solenoids "a" and "b" they are held on by one torx bolt each t27 unplug the wires off them remove the bolt pull the solenoid off replace solenoid put the bolt back in then do the other one plug the wires back in. Might as well replace the filter while you are there .Then put the pan back on, fill up with trans fluid put in 5 litres then start shift into "d" and "r" then check level and add a little more if required road test and you are done.
