Understand TSB #04-8-50-006 of 3/1/04 covers leather seat problems - which I have as a problem, started about 5,000 miles - now at 25,000 miles and its time to push the dealer. Note GMC will not supply the TSB. Are the TSB's available any where on-line? Would be great if the TSB's relative to Dmax get stored on the site by number, just may be a lot of work however.
Thanks for your help

If a customer comes in to your dealership due to certain conditions of the seat covers (splits, wrinkles, loose stitching, etc.), you must examine the seat cover in order to determine the validity of the customer claim. Some components from the above listed vehicles have been returned to the Warranty Parts Center (WPC) and analysis of these parts showed "customer induced damage" or No Trouble Found (NTF).
The dealer should pay particular attention to the following conditions:

Cigarette burns

Customer induced cuts (knife cuts, cut by customer tools, etc.)
Paint stains (customer should have cleaned paint stains while paint was still wet)
Coffee stains and other removable dirt These should be cleaned as described in the Owner's Manual under Appearance Care.
Evidence of chemicals used for cleaning, other than those specified in the Owner's Manual
Other chemical spills
Minor and normal leather wrinkles as a result of use
Other defects to the seat cover not detected during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI).
Inform the customer that the above issues were not present when the vehicle was purchased and cannot be replaced under warranty. The covers, however, may be repaired or replaced at the customer's expense.
The following conditions are not caused by the customer and should be covered by warranty:

You did not say specifically what was wrong with your leather seats. If it is the usual splitting and cracking, you can expect that for as long as you own the truck - NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES GM REPLACES THE SEAT COVERS UNDER WARRANTY! They are cheap garbage.:badidea:
Once warranty is up then you have to pick up the tab. I'll never get them again. (Learned the hard way). My 2004.5 has the cloth seats and I am perfectly satisfied with them.
Good luck!
cloth is OK until you spill something, my leather seats clean up very easily and have survived a 7 and a 3 year old when they were younger as well. the cloth feels like a different seat, may or may not be. when the time comes, Katzkins will be next.......

The leather seats in mine are SH** ! The drivers side has a section about 6" x 4" with the finish just peeling off. Looks like crap after 50k and only 15 months old ! The passenger seat has a lot of discoloration. The general will never sell me leather seats again.

The leather seats are cheap CRAP you pay a high price for.
Put sheep skin on mine and very happy with them.
Should not be a reason why some one should cover leather.
Mine looked years old before could get sheep skin made.
