Godfreys 12-12-2003, 10:40 PM I have a certificate from a guy in another forum. Problem is looks like my truck will be late arriving, TWP1/05/04
Any chance they will be extending?
I know, wishfull thinking.
Also, does this discount come strictly from GM or is it likely to cut into the dealers markup as well. I had agreed to pay 300 over invoice(i know I should have held out for lower) So I wonder if the dealer would be willing to go for the discount plan. After waiting 3 months for my truck to be built, I'd have a hard time walking away.
mbeckwith 12-12-2003, 10:47 PM Depending on the part of the country, you may have until 1/12/04. Check the link the first post. Read the fine print carfully.

Who knows if they'll extend the certificates, but one of the posters said they were only good for $100.00 off the invoice, which is why it's up to the dealers if they want to accept them.
Don't say $300 over invoice is too much.....
I worked the dealers in my area over pretty hard and that's the best I could do on a Duramax "Dooley", so that's what I agreed to. I remember looking at these when they first came out and the dealers were getting over sticker for them, so I don't really feel bad about this one.
As for the rebates that expire on 1-12-04, truck sales are up significantly for GM, but overall sales are still down, I'm hoping there will be some kind of rebate initiated after the current $2500 expires...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gifEdited by: Zeeb
Dmax Tim 12-14-2003, 06:52 AM Ask the dealer and see if he will honor the lower price.
I also have 2 cards left so PM me if Howard runs out.
BTW Howard, it's nice not having to order 2 cards at a time http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
highonpsi 12-15-2003, 02:46 AM I have a certificate. But I have some questions. Who does and does not qualify? And does the dealership have a choice not to honor the certificate? And does this discount mean at invoice or at a set amount under (or over)?
Dmax Tim 12-15-2003, 11:39 AM Basicly anyone can use it but if u work for GM or are a GM supplier u don't need a card to get the discount.
Some dealers won't honor them but many do, so shop around if u find one that won't give u the discount.
The GMS (employee) price and the supplier price are listed on the invoice so it is a 'No Haggle' price.
I always get them to show me the invoice and most of the time they give me a copy when I get a new truck.
I am not sure but i guess it is lower than dealer invoice cost.
Gm use % off base and options so it isn't fixed $$ off price.
SteveCA 12-17-2003, 01:25 AM GMS on my 2004 2500HD CC D/A was $2500 below invoice on a $46503 MSRP truck. With total rebates of $3900 it came to $35400 give or take a few bucks.
I went to the site linked above and checked some sample prices. The prices they quoted did not seem consistent with GMS pricing that I've seen over the years. The quoted prices seemed too close to MSRP. They looked more like invoice rather than GMS whcih has always been well below invoice.
just my $.02

Dmax Tim 12-17-2003, 09:31 AM Steve, the supplier price is 4% over GMS so the don't get the full employee discount but on the hard to deal on vehicles like H2 they can save a lot of $$$ w/ the card.
BTW Steve did u get the LLY motor?

4% above GMS is still under invoice which is great in my book. Now getting the dealers to part with the truck may be another matter. Some dealers didn't want to do GMS on these trucks. fortunately enough of them did so it wasn't a problem finding what I wanted.
I did not get the LLY motor. My truck was purchased in late November. I understand that trucks built after a certain date in early December come with the LLY.

highonpsi 12-18-2003, 02:36 AM Hey Howard, I have another question for ya. Do these certificates exempt us from paying holdback, and LAM fees? The cert says at GM supplier discount price, so does it mean just that? Thanks in advance.
BTW, just trying to get as much info as possible, I've found my truck 300 miles away, and I hope to be driving out of the dealership with it this Saturday. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif So if there is any more info I can be prepared with that is great. The GMS price is less than Invoice. I believe it is 1 1/2% under invoice.
IRRC the holdback is 3% of MSRP and that is split with the dealer and the GMS buyer, If I remember correctly that was how it was explained to me.
LAM ?????? what's that ???????
I think GMS is a good deal because it is a no BS deal, the price is the price plus Rebates.

howard_m18 12-20-2003, 02:32 AM TO ALL OF YOU: If you want a certificate, PLEASE talk to the dealer & see that he will honor the certificate!! All you have to do to qualify is NOT BE ELIGABLE for a G.M. discount! If the dealer won't honor the certificate, it doesn't help anyone for me to send you a certificate just to THROW IT AWAY,RIGHT?? If you send me a e-mail for a certificate, PLEASE send the following info. I need your name, address, phone # as I will talk to you about the easiest way to get the certificate to you. Ther are a couple of other questions that I will ask of you. 4 certificates left, I THINK!! Howard http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
highonpsi 12-20-2003, 11:59 AM On my way out the door to Abilene to hopefully drive that truck off the lot. I asked the dealership if they had any problem honoring the certificate, they said no. BTW GMC-200-Dmax, LAM fees are the ad fees they try to stick you with http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif.
Hope all goes well on my first NEW VEHICLE purchase.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif
And thanks to PAINTER for sending me a PM when I joined up, to offer me a cert. Appreciate it buddy.
Godfreys 12-20-2003, 02:29 PM LAM Local Area Marketing
Shown on invoice as Local and Regional charge amounts to 1.5% of msrp. 3 dealers I talked to all stuck to thier guns on this. Maybe I wasn't tough enough, or looked to anxious. It is included in the invoices I was shown although there was some mention of dealer advertising credit along with holdback at the bottom.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who will be paying this.... makes my 300 over invoice look more like 900 over : (
So basically it's invoice (as found on KBB and others) plus destination, plus LAM, minus rebates.
On suppliers deal, do you ad destination or LAM in?
HarryK 12-20-2003, 02:48 PM Just purchased a truck with a Driveway coupon and I want to thank
everyone who helped me out especially Dominick and Bart.
I want to help out and clear up some confusion about the different prices to assist anyone else out there.
The GMS price is the price a GM employee pays.
The Supplier price was 4% above this, now it's 5% above making it sometimes come out to about $30 over the invoice price!
The real price the dealer pays for the vehicle is in narrative form at the bottom of the invoice and says 'less holdback and financing/advertising credits' after the number.
For a truck Built in DEC 2003, with the new 5% over GMS price :
Example: MSRP is 43,100
GMS is 36,340
Supplier is 38,077
Invoice is 38, 045
Final Invoice is 36,220 (On bottom of 'MEMO' field) but this final invoice includes the money the dealer gets every quarter for holdback and ADV/Financing credits.
Of course you save the DOC fees since the certificate doesn't allow the dealer to charge you those fees. The Gm Driveway price at supplier cost is locked in and includes the ADV fees (usually 1% of MSRP). Hope this helps.
If you don't have a certificate, A very saavy negotiator can get down to invoice, split the adv fees, and make him drop the DOC fees and get a better deal than the supplier price unless the supplier price lists the price as 4% over GMS which means the truck is at least a couple of months old. Then you subtract all of your rebates. It's about a 3 to 4 hour process without a certificate and very draining.
Merry Xmas!
Harry K.
SteveCA 12-20-2003, 05:45 PM You can save yourself the agony of a 3-4 hour negotiation by doing the following:
1. Find the truck you want online at GMC.com or Chevy.com, call the dealer in question and ask to speak to the General manager. The general manager often will talk to you directly if he is available, but if not will pass you onto his sales or fleet manager.
2. Tell him that you are in the market to buy the particular truck they have in stock and the price that you are willing to pay, that you are a cash buyer or will take the zero percent financing for XX months.
3. They will check their records and call you back with either a okay lets do it or can't do it. If they say lets do it, have them fax you a purchase agreement that will show the price you agreed to and all other taxes fees etc. Of course tell them to forget the doc fee business because you know better and know that the DMV has no such fees.
4. Review the faxed document, call them back to negotiate any errant fees, etc. have them fax you back a final agreed to purchase agreement. Then agree to a time for pickup of the vehicle. At this time they will need your social security number, driver license number to run credit check and be sure that they don't release the truck to someone with a suspended licnese or no license at all.
5. Go pickup the truck as agreed, but call before hand to make sure it is ready for drive off. It will take no more that 30 minutes to fill out the necessary paperwork.
I learned this stuff from a good friend that has worked at various dealerships in management positions and have used it to buy many vehicles for friends and family. The 3-4 hour business is simply a ploy to wear you down so that you agree to their price. They sit around in back drinking coffee while you stew. When you are there in person, you are on their turf and terms. When you negotiate over the phone with a non-commissioned management person, you are on a level playing field. Their job is to move trucks not play games. Once they know that you understand the situation and that you could just as easily call another dealer 5 miles down the road, they get down to business.
Try it, you'll be surprised how easy it can be. It works particulary well on the last day of the month at about 3PM.

SonnyBear 12-20-2003, 07:11 PM Here is exactly what I paid for mine:
MSRP: 47,017.00
Invoice w/destination 41,034.89
Advert fee of 1.5% = 615.52
Possible LLY charge of 200.00 if increase can be verified on invoice
41,034.89
615.52
200.00 (maybe)
41,850.41 plus I retain all rebates available upon arrival.
Did I fight over the advert or destination fee? No, I am real happy that the dealer did not screw around and accepted straight invoice. I had called around locally and nationally (www.ande.com (http://www.ande.com)) and the destination and advert was required by all of them. I would like to maintain a good working relationship with this dealer, so we are both happy. Looking at harryk's calculations, I am not sure If I could of saved some bucks or not. I will doublecheck and hit the dealer up if it looks good. Thanks for the info.
mojot58 12-20-2003, 08:43 PM SonnyBear -
Those rebates are whatever are in place when you take delivery - do you know what they will be then?
Just wondering because I have asked the same question - how are the incentives in the first quarter.
The price you ended up with is very close to the 'in the driveway' price.
Thanks for sharing your numbers - i should be doing the same as Harry sometime this week.

mojot58 12-24-2003, 11:41 AM And here is what I paid for mine:
04 Sierra 2500 EC LB LST
MSRP 44,210
GM Employee 37,422
Supplier 38,919
Paid 36,050
Used the in the driveway cert and $3,000 rebate.
Also had Line-X included in the deal!
http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Good experience and fair deal.
YMMV
Merry Christmas to all!
Dmax Tim 12-26-2003, 01:46 PM I picked the Chevy the dealer ordered for me and while waiting to get the final clean-up, I was talking to the salesmanager (real nice guy and good to deal w/) and since I bought 12 new trucks from him we go back a while.
I ???? the driveway cards and he said if someone asks about them he gives them that price even if they don't have the card, they like to deal and have around 10 D/A trucks on the lot.
SerasLibre 12-28-2003, 09:51 PM I purchased an 04 Sierra SLT CC SB w/46.8K msrp for 38.4K w/out the "driveway" certificate...only rebates. If you shop around long enough, and call dealers near and far, you WILL find one that will give you an excellent deal. ...of course, this is only if you have patience ..and are willing to wait. If you CANT wait, the sales managers are happier than you when you walk off the lot with your new truck. ..good luck to all who are "soon to be" owners.
1Gunner 01-04-2004, 08:27 AM I'm looking to purchase my first DMax within the next month unless I have to order. Moving up from a Z-71. I'm stoked! Does anyone know if this "GM In the Driveway" program is going to be extended and if so where any of these certificates can be had?Edited by: 1Gunner
howard_m18 01-04-2004, 10:38 PM HI GUNNER & I hate to be the bearer of "BAD" news, BUT the certificates expire on 1/2/04. You can go the web site & see for yourself. www.gminthedriveway.com (http://www.gminthedriveway.com) They might start something up later this month or next. E-mail me your name, address & phone # so we can talk about it! I still have 1 left, so I quess i get to keep it for memory sake. All you do now is go to a dealer & push a "ON-STAR" button & win a new car /truck!! Not bad!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifHoward
Dmax Tim 01-06-2004, 10:26 AM I talked to my dealers salesmanager (real nice guy and deals too) and ?? him about the 'driveway cards' and he said he gives them that price if they ?? him, even if they don't have the card.
Like I said he likes to deal.

TCosgrove 01-16-2004, 07:08 PM Hi troops . I have really enjoyed reading all the posts here.
Now its time to replace my 1989 Silverado Suburban k1500 4x4 with a 6.2. What an awsome vehicle this has been. 185,000 miles on it and no engine problems. Only one transmission job.
I have ordered a 04 Sierra 2500 HD D/A SB 4x4 SLT. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif I can't wait for it to get here. I emailed Howard and I have to send him another Email Monday my TPW is 1-19-04. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Im wondering if I can use one of these Cards on my ordered truck??http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif Oh well I'll let ya all know waht Howard tells me.
Godfreys 01-16-2004, 07:22 PM Tim: If you have any left I sure could use one! I ordered my truck back in October and have one of the expired ones. Howard tells me my truck is at the local train depot just waiting for a carrier to get it to the dealer (2 days already), so don't know if one could get here in time.... or if my dealer will accept it. But if i get one and end up unable to use it I would be happy to forward it to somebody else. (I had 2 of the old ones and gave one away)
04wanabemax 01-18-2004, 09:58 PM Dmax Tim
Do you have any of these certificates left? I sure could use one as my trucks TPW is 02/09/04, and the dealer said it should be in by 03/09/04 at the latest. If not do you know of anyone else who may have them. Thanks in advance for your help. Fran
Hope the dealer is right because I can't wait for the drive home... the long way of course!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Mike330R 01-19-2004, 01:20 AM Would using one of these certificates be a better savings than $500 over invoice?
Godfreys 01-19-2004, 10:45 PM Mike: yes it would. I just bought my truck for 60 over invoice because my dealer wouldn't accept the Driveway certificate. Looks like if he had I would have saved an extra 260 and may have even got out of the 190 documentation fee.
With a little luck I'll be picking it up tomorrow.
Ah hindsight....
I had originally thought about the certs, but there was no way I could get a truck ordered by the time the original certs expired on 01-2-04. In fact when I ordered mine, they had not been extended from the December deadline.
I was thinking I'd be happy to get it by the expiration of the $2500.00 rebate on 01-12-04, at least that was extended (big sigh of relief). So while I might have saved a couple of hundred by approaching my dealer after the fact, I'd already agreed to a $300.00 over invoice price which was the best I could get from 5 dealers, and this one is only a mile from my house. It's different dealing on something that's on the lot, ordering a 2500HD, and ordering 3500. They don't seem nearly as willing to deal, and not all of them had allocation for a 1 ton.
So to preserve the dealer's good will for the future relationship I'll no doubt have with the service department, and possibly the sales department, I'll give 'em the couple of hundred extra.
One of the disadvantages of not having to had to shop for a vehicle in 30 odd years I guess. Live and learn.
Godfreys:
Sounds like you're finally getting the new ride, congrats. Hope everything goes better from here on than it seems to have gone so far...
Zeeb
Godfreys 01-19-2004, 11:40 PM Zeeb, FWIW: I also couldn't get the sales manager down below the 300 over invoice price. However when I got in with the finance guy, I asked him if they would accept a certificate if I could get it in a couple of days. He thought they might but the Sales manager shot him down. The finance guy seemed to feel bad about it so I asked him to absorb the GM increases. He knocked 200 off. He later took another 40 off when I objected to the Documentation fee. I was lucky the finance guy was a good egg and all this was accomplished without confrontation. I know some guys get better deals than this, but I feel good!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
The wait is over!!!

SteveNorCal 01-22-2004, 02:13 PM I'm new here and close to buying a 04 Chevy D/A CC SB 4X4.
I was wondering:
Does the dealer get "something" from GM when a customer uses a "GM in the Driveway" certificate? (Just curious)
Does the sentence below (from GM's website) mean a 2500HD truck is NOT eligible??
Which GM vehicles are eligible?
All new and unused 2003, 2004 and 2005 GM passenger cars, SUVs, minivans and light-duty trucks, including Saab and Saturn. HUMMER H1 and medium-duty vehicles are not eligible. Some other models may have limited availability, especially Corvette. Eligibility of GM vehicles may change at any time without notice.
Thanks!!Edited by: SteveNorCal

Godfreys 01-22-2004, 07:41 PM Tim: I no longer need a certificate.
In talking with the finance guy at the dealership, He said they do get some money back from GM on the Certificates. However, he said it is not a lot. He said they actually get more on the employees discount than the suppliers program.
Either way, they have the right to refuse... and they did, but I love my truck anyways!
The dealer get paid the amount on the memo line to deliver the truck on an employee GMS deal. If they get this money on all sale then they got about $1500.00 a truck.
Dmax Tim 01-26-2004, 09:26 AM I just got my cards so I'll be sending them out today to the guys that PM'd me.
howard_m18 01-26-2004, 03:48 PM HI GUYS & this is how the program works! Each employee gets a total of 10 cert. I have called & I'm waiting for the 6 to come to me in Florida. I have them all filled, SORRY ABOUT THAT!! Late Jan. the other 4 will be sent to my house. I have them filled, I think! If you don't get any G.M. discounts, you are qualified to use a cert. BUT, the dealer must be willing to accept a cert. I really have a problem sending a cert. to someone & they not be able to use it. There are'nt that many to go around. Now all we got to do is figure out how much its gonna save us off of the dealer's invoice pricehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif. But its still got to be better than sitting there for 3 to 4 hours negotiatinghttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif.

jlandry_indians 01-31-2004, 08:25 PM Tim and Howard I have sent pm's to you just in case there are any extra's or left overs or people that back out. I sure could use one. I plan on buying from dealer inventory.
TCosgrove 02-01-2004, 10:52 PM Of course you save the DOC fees since the certificate doesn't allow the dealer to charge you those fees. The Gm Driveway price at supplier cost is locked in and includes the ADV fees (usually 1% of MSRP). Hope this helps.
I can't find anywhere on the In The Drivway Coupon or on the Web sight for the program that doc. fees are are excuded.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
Can someone point me in the right direction before I pick up my new Truck tomorrow.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

gottaway 02-09-2004, 11:55 PM I am interested in what exactly does this certificate do for my cost? I have ordered a GMC D/A and the MSRP was about $40900. I got an agreed price of much less. Do you still get all the latest incentives ($2500 or 0% APR) with the certificate? What would my cost be for the above MSRP? I have a TPW of 2/23. How do you obtain the price of the vehicle? Thanks for the enlightenment.
howard_m18 02-10-2004, 12:16 AM HI GOTTAWAY & the math works out to M.S.R.P. - 15% = Supplier discount price. Don't forget to send me the S.O.N. & T.P.W. so we can track the "BABY" home! Send it to me at = howard_m18@yahoo.com http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
gottaway 02-10-2004, 08:22 AM Thanks Howard,
Those numbers are on their way. Boy that price sounds low 40900 x .85 =$34765! KBB says the dealer invoice is $35803. I wish I could get either of those prices! I am checking now if my dealer will take that certificate.
1Gunner 02-10-2004, 06:19 PM I want to give a big "Thumbs Up" to Dmax Tim for the certificate I just recieved in the mail. Tim you just saved me a nice chunk of change. Thanks again man!

CalDirt 02-21-2004, 04:31 PM the math works out to M.S.R.P. - 15% = Supplier discount price.
Howard - first off, THANK you for sending my cert out! And thank you for taking the time to support this group and provide all the tracking info! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
The cert itself hasn't arrived yet (I'm on west coast, you were in Florida), but my dealer called today and said my baby has arrived and I can come down and pick it up, using the "GM in the Driveway" cert pricing, then send him the cert next week when it arrives. Problem is, the math isn't adding up. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
First, here's what we're looking at:
http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif Vehicle code: CK25743 - 2004 Chevrolet SILVERADO 2500 HD CREW CAB 4WD 153.0" W.B. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
MSRP Base: $ 39,718.00, Destination Charge: $850, Optional Equipment: $ 9,865.00 = TOTAL MSRP $ 50,433.00
If I take 15% off that number, I get: $ 42,868.05, but my dealer gets $ 43,085.36, a $217 difference. The dealer is useless in explaining why his math is different, so I'm looking to this group for help. I don't want to pick the truck up until I know I'm getting the "right" deal here. I've told him I've heard this should be MSRP less 15% or GM Employee price + 5%, and he says $43,085.36 is the latter.
The dealer is also telling me I need to pay a $45 DMV fee, but I've seen several postings which say this program explicitely prevents the dealer from charging ANY doc fees. I've always thought doc fees and DMV fees were the same. If they're not, and this is a valid charge, I'll be happy to pay it (it's only $45!) but I don't want to overpay. Very confusing since yesterday he told me my doc fees were $588 and now he cannot recall those fees, but they seem to have magically disappeared when I mentioned this certficate you've sent me.
Now, this is all made even more confusing by other threads I've seen which discuss dealer holdback, and none of the threads I've seen here seem to get to the bottom of this issue. I've read everywhere on the Net that the dealer holdback for GM is 3% but have seen some posts here talking about 4 and 5%. However, let's presume it's still 3% for the sake of discussion.
KBB and Edmunds put the invoice on my truck at $ 43,176.25. A 3% dealer holdback ($ 1,512.99) brings us t
lucky1468 02-22-2004, 12:11 PM Looking for a certificate if anyone has one send me a PM planing on buying buy this saturday.
Dmax Tim 02-23-2004, 12:10 PM DDUFFY, u don't get 15% off the shipping cost so u have to take it out and add it in after discount.
The 15% isn't cut in stone, could be 14.95% and on that much is makes a difference.
Gm puts the price on invoice and it has GMS price and GM supplier price.
The card gets u supplier price, so what u see is what u pay, that way dealers can't play w/ the $$$$$$$$$.
As for doc fee I'm not sure.
gottaway 02-23-2004, 10:32 PM Dmax Tim,

The card is good for supplier price (if dealer will accept it) on new vehicles which as stated above is in 15% off or around or lower than invoice price.
If your dealer will take it PM me or Howard and if I have any left I will mail it to you.
I want to thank the guys that sent me a gift for sending the card ( u don't have to do it).
I don't drink coffee but the wife does so the Starbucks card was a peace offering for mailing the 50+ driveway cards.

Dmax Tim 04-02-2004, 02:35 PM OK here is the newest 'In the driveway' promo.
Let’s go for “More in ’04.”
GM in the Driveway enthusiasm is contagious!
Do you know someone in the market for a new vehicle? You can help boost sales and market share – and our company’s success – by sharing the GM in the Driveway discount.
The GM in the Driveway discount is perfect for people who otherwise may not consider buying a new GM vehicle. So share this valuable discount with friends, neighbors and extended family who are shopping the competition!
GM in the Driveway has met with tremendous success – more than 56,000 sales in 2003 alone. And now there has never been a better time, or an easier way, to share GM in the Driveway discounts with potential buyers. Read on to learn about this easy new discount process!
What’s new
Now there is no need for certificates! Simply use the new online process to obtain GM in the Driveway authorization numbers. It’s similar to the new GM Employee Discount process. You will need your prospect’s date of birth and last 4 digits of their social security number to obtain their GM in the Driveway authorization number online. Each eligible GM employee will receive 2 GM in the Driveway discounts per month, so be on the lookout for potential prospects!
So I have 2 available right now, take the number we give u to the dealer and buy on the spot.
These are non-transferable, u must show drivers license w/ SS # to use.
PM me the info.
U have to log into https://www.gmfamilyfirst.com to be able to get the ##s.Edited by: Dmax Tim
Dmax Tim 04-03-2004, 07:04 AM I have 1 left, since u CAN'T transfer these u need to make sure the dealer will accept/honor the pricing.
GM employees or retirees there is also a phone # to call and get these GID ##s.
We need a list of members that are willing/able to get these ##s since we can only help 2 at a time.
I'll try and recruit a few more ##s from work too.
Dmax Tim 04-03-2004, 07:29 AM "The special GM in the Driveway pricing is the same as the price our preferred suppliers pay. Your friends can also combine their discount with current incentives to receive the maximum value possible! Remember, this offer is only valid through December 31, 2004."
This program is good til end of year.
maynard9089 04-03-2004, 02:22 PM Dmax Tim- I also have one left (don't worry Firerob, the other is yours). I am sure that I could get more using co-workers if neccessary. I've gone to the GMFamilyFirst website but haven't found the link to request these yet. Anyone else having any luck?
Dmax Tim 04-04-2004, 06:49 AM maynard9089, go to familyfirst and log in.
Click the 'in the driveway' link.
It will give u an authorization window (like GMS) and put in DOB and last 4 SS# and select prospect.
Click on 'go to step 2 of 3' and verify info.
Click step 3 and it will give u a ####-GID and u can print out that page or email it to the person.
All they need is the code to take to dealer so I just cut and paste it in a PM.
Let me know if u need anymore help.
TIM
maynard9089 04-04-2004, 08:11 AM Im not getting the "in the Driveway" link. Gonna call on Monday.
Dmax Tim 04-05-2004, 07:14 AM Maynard are u able to log in OK?
I got a card last week that also had a phone # to call in and obtain the codes.
I'll have to see if the wife didn't pitch it.
maynard9089 04-05-2004, 06:40 PM Just got through. All set. I have one left to the highest bidderhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif! Just kidding. Anyone interested please PM me. First come, first serve. I'll need your name, DOB, last 4 SS# and a phone number where you can be reached.

T.P.N. 04-09-2004, 09:36 PM Anyone have any of the current certificates available??? Got a good friend who is ready to buy . . . .
Dmax Tim 04-13-2004, 09:43 AM Read our previous postings about no more cards,
1) U must make sure dealer will honor the new promo.
2) PM one of us listed and we can do 2 people/month till end of year.
These are non-transferable so U must make sure the dealer will honor and that U are going to use it.
No more of the 25+ cards/promo like I had before.
Dmax Tim 04-19-2004, 07:23 AM Anyone willing to help jump in and let everyone know.
I'm out until May.
LanduytG 04-24-2004, 09:04 PM Well I am starting to look for a new Dmax. Sold my son the old 95 6.5. Up until now I have not paid any attention to what all is available and what not. Anyway what do I need to do to get one of these certificates and how does it all work? Sorry if this has been discussed before but hate to read through all these post.
Greg
Greg,
As I understand it, the certs get you GM supplier pricing which is just a little bit over invoice. They also prohibit the dealer charging you document fees for the licensing and other paperwork associated with a vehicle sale, which can be a chunk of change at some places....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
That's not to say you don't have to pay the fees required by your State for licensing, you do. But the dealer can't charge you to fill out the paperwork for that.
I believe they also prohibit the Local Area Marketing or LAM fees which are typically 1.5% of invoice and are added by most dealers.
The catch is that dealer participation is voluntary. So since the new system for getting the certs does not allow the transfer to another individual, you need to ask your dealer if he will accept one.
Once you find a dealer who will take one, you need to get ahold of one of the members here like Dmax Tim and they can see about getting you the cert, or now it's actually a confirmation number for the dealer to submit to GM on completion of the sale.Edited by: Zeeb
LanduytG 04-25-2004, 03:09 PM Zeeb
Thanks for the info. I am in the looking stage right now trying to figure out what I want and whats available. I have a friend that buys from the auction and I might go that route. He is going to let me know this week what they typically go for. I have never bought a used truck so not sure I am going to do it unless they are several thousand cheaper.

Dmax Tim 05-06-2004, 11:23 AM PM Howard or Nassdmax they have some left.
Need name, date of birth, and last 4 SS#.
cjordan 05-13-2004, 11:50 AM The GMS price is about 1900 under invoice at the dealer I checked with. GMS is the GM EMPLOYEE price, not GM supplier price. Gm supplier price was about $200 over invoice. I bought at invoice, so if you can get them to invoice you're better off. I also didn't pay any documentation fees which the general manager claimed I had to, "they couldn't do anything about it" was his claim. I said well your competitior, "XYZ" can do the deal witout charging the doc fees so I guess I'll go back to them, stood up and took a couple of steps. Next, I felt like a rock star... the salesman, floor manager, general manager, and finance manager swarmed me......all of a sudden those "doc fees" they couldn't do anything about disappeared. Talking with the dealer, things are very very slow right now. Edited by: cjordan

fishingn 06-02-2004, 09:53 PM Ok can someone clear something up for me about this GM certificates, the truck iam looking at has a sticker of 44,500. The invoice is 39,460 & the Supplier price is 39,487 & the GMS is 37,709. So if i can get the certificate what would i pay for the truck. Would i pay the supplier price or the GMS price?????????
GMC-2002-Dmax 06-02-2004, 10:18 PM Supplier.............
You pay no Documentation fees either..........GM does not allow it.
I think you still have to pay the advertising and freight.
Also check how long it has been on the lot....after so many months the percentage of the discount changes IIRC.

LanduytG 06-12-2004, 03:53 PM Love this truck. A big thanks to Matt for the certificate. MSRP was $41315 and by the time it was all said and done the certificate and insentives brought down to $33093. Used trucks I was looking at were that much and more.

eraserhead 06-14-2004, 10:12 AM My wife and I have an opportunity to buy a new 2004 tahoe if we have a gm in the driveway certificate. I am a Cad Draftsman and work for an Architect who has done work for GM here in Shreveport, Louisiana. We had the tahoe over the weekend and have not been able to get a certificate. We have to take the vehicle back at lunch and if we have no certificate, we can't afford it. Please Help.
Thanks,
Keith
dbscpa 06-14-2004, 12:42 PM My friend is looking to get back in the GM camp after several years of owing Fords. Does anyone have a GM in the driveway certificate I could give to him? Thanks in advance.
cjordan 06-16-2004, 04:52 PM For everyone trying to come up with a certificate.......Have you tried to purchase at dealer Invoice? Invoice is LESS than GM supplier pricing and you don't need to chase down any certificates. If you are a good negociator you can buy at invoice....my dealer threw in an addnl 1,000 in bonus cash in addition to the 1,000 heavy duty power package discount, so I bought at 2k under invoice and took the 0% for 5 yrs instead of the 2500 cash back. 04.5 CC short box Duramax LT 4X4Edited by: cjordan
