I have been looking at lift kits but have a ? I was in a parking lot the other day and there was a LB7 w/ what appeared to be a 6" Fabtec. when I was walking up to it from behind the front wheels were about 4" further out than the rears??? is that normal? I started looking harder at other trucks; I saw a 4" rancho and the fronts and the back were the same. RCD was the same. Is that just a Fabtec thing or the guy just got a shotty install??

Some Lifts That Are Larger Use Spacers To Push Out The Front Wheels In Order To Drop Down The Brackets For The Lift . Some People Dont Like The Fronts Out Wider Than The Rear . Doesnt Bother Me Any .

The Rancho and RCD are the same kit(well built by the same people). I think its a Fabtech thing. My buddy has their 8" kit and its that way, but he does love the lift kit.

I have about 1200 miles on my 6" RCD lift and love it. It rides so nice down the road better than stock and the front end is a little wider but doesn't bother me. I think it looks meaner for oncoming traffic.

It has to do with lifts that replace the spindal. I don't know the exact reason, possible wheel clearence on the longer spindal, but lifts like Pro Comp that don't use a new spindal and use brackets to lower the upper controll arm the same as the lower controll arm do not increase track width.

I have a 4x4 and Cognito came out with a new lift kit that is like a spindal for the 4x4's. My front wheels stick out more than the rear...doesn't bother me one bit! Also on 2wd they often use spindals aswell..

Procomp makes both kinds of lifts for our trucks, spindle or drop brackets

Thanks for the replies!! I found out the Fabtech sticks out 3" on each side ,so a total of 6" inches further out than rears. The RCD lifts sticks out only 1" on each side. It just looked a little odd to me w/ them sticking out. Personal preference i guess!! Well I ordered my RCD lift yesterday and gets installed this Friday and I pick up on Sat!!!! I cant wait!! This site really sucks!!! I have not even made my first payment yet and i want to buy all this stuff

Congrats on the lift you'll enjoy it. I will post some pics of mine soon. Not to jump ship or anything. I saw in your sig you have an Ironhorse :cool2: . Two weeks ago I bought a frame, tranny, rear fender, wheels and tires. I can't wait to put it together.
