I just put 4" exhaust on my D-Max what a difference! Now I am looking into air-intake systems, any suggestions? Also programmers?

I am interested in an intake too. I held off when I bought my other upgrades because some people who bought the intakes that were available at the time for the LLY were actually losing power and having problems with them.

Any tried and true intakes for the LLY out there?

There is a thread that just got started regarding volant intakes systems. Like I posted and someone also said that same thing is that the stock intake works best for the truck. I was told by RBP that the chevy ran better with the stock intake vs an aftermarket intake...

We use the AFE intakes and actually recommend the Stage I over the stage II. The stage II comes with an intake tube that has a tight fit and supposedly only increases the airflow by 20 cfm. Not worth the price increase IMO. Also, some independant tests have shown the stock intake system to flow as much as alot of aftermarket filters.

If you are looking for the best all around programmer, the Predator is tough to beat. It has excellent power and is very smoothe as compared to others on the market. If you are looking for a harness box, the new 1.2 version Edge Juice boxes have been running very well.

Just do a search for the items you want to know about here at The Diesel Place.
You will find tons of info and opinions, then you'll have to make the ultimate choice of what you want. :exactly:

I was also told that the only upgrade needed on the Chevy is a airraid filter (or equivelent) that the intake can't be improved on over the chevy design. All I did was replace the filter. Mine hauls!!!:grd:

I would buy a bd diesel Intimidator for my lly when it comes out cuz its suppose to be 170 whp and 350 wtq and take out top speed limiter for like 499.And how could a stock intake flow better than a aftermarket like volant that has the piping smoothed out. and an optional scoop that goes down by your front bumper. theres my .02
