Hey guys,
Just wondering, I bought a used Dmax and did not get the exteded warranty with it. Is the 100k warranty transfered or am I screwed if the injectors go out.
???????????

Nope, as long as it's under the 5 years/100K miles, you're covered. You will likely have to pay the $100 deductible if it's over 36,000 miles (I believe this is the cut off).

Also, what year do you have? If it's an '01 or '02, you should also be covered for 200K miles on injectors.

It's and 03 Ext Dmax 4x4 with 70000miles on it. I know high miles but I new the original owner. Just towed my 10000lb 5er withit this weekend what a difference between it and my 98 k3500 dually I traded.

Well unfortunately, you won't have the 200K warranty on the injectors then. I wouldn't worry about it--if there haven't been any injector problems yet, you might end up being just fine. It's not like every one of these trucks has injector problems.

And 70,000 miles isn't what I'd consider high mileage for one of these trucks. Enjoy it!

A friend of mine bought a truck from somebody we knew and had the extended warranty. They did not transfer it over within 30 days the dealer told him it does not transfer over automatically he was screwed.

I'm just refering to the 100k warranty not the extended warranty you have to purchase. I have seen people get the shaft on the extended warranty.

How long is the 200k mile warranty on the injectors good for? Is it up after 5 years also?

On certain 01's and 02's the injector warranty is 7yrs or 200,000 miles whichever occurs first.

so if i just bought an 01 duramax from a Dodge dealership, do i need something in writing from them in case my injectors go out ? or is it as long as i have less than 200K any GM dealership will cover them? in other words being that im not the original owner will that turn into a big problem if i had injectors go bad.

01,

Thats what I'm trying to find out too. Sounds like we can still use the warranty but I am not postive yet.

You shouldn't need anything in writing. If you haven't recieved anything yet, I think you probably will receive something from GM eventually. I bought mine used form a used car dealer and a title search revealed it had gone through several dealers. I still received notices about the injectors and the tailgate strap recall. I even have received info. from GM on customer loyalty programs even though my last couple of trucks were bought used.

They will waive the 100.00 deductible if your in the 100k to 200k range on the free extended warranty. For 01 and 02 models, just call GM assistance they will work it out.

GM sent me something like a policy for the 200,000 miles and extended time. My dealer told me to put it in a safe place because I would need it if I had this problem.

As long as the work is performed at a GM dealership which most injector work will be it should be in the computer system with the Vin Number. I bought a duramax in Jan and had them pull the service record and it showed that the injectors had been replaced at 70,000 so it was extended to 200,000 since it was a 2002.
