DTC 31 - EGR Control Pressure/Baro Sensor Circuit Low (High Vacuum)

So what do i do to fix it now?

DTC 31 is EGR control pressure/baro curcuit low( high vacuum). I'm not sure but I'd look at the EGR solenoid and the vac lines going to the EGR and Baro as well as test the EGR to see if it functions correctly.

I pulled that info from the FAQ's. QM your code is a different number with the same description?

CR,

I fought this problem for months! Get DTC 31, then 33, then 32. Trace out your vacuum lines from pump to the EGR. Take the lines off of the solenoids and squirt them out with WD40. Then if you still get the DTC, CLOSELY inspect the wires to the solenoids. They are known to break and leave the insulation intact. You can check with a multimeter to verify the solenoids are getting power as well.

The manual says to check the baro voltage against a known good sensor. (That helps, huh?) I bought a new baro that I didn't need but put it on anyway. If you need a refrence to work off of I will pull one for you but realize that I am at 5400 feet here.

Will do some checking later then, thanks.
When i had the head gaskets done i asked them to block the EGR off for me, i don't know if they did it or how. Been running fine for months now, still running fine, just have this code now?

I should be starting a new thread on the 00, i'm looking for a compression tester today after work.

Problem fixed.

Added brake fluid to the master, DOH! front was empty. And yes, i just noticed i have a leaky wheel cylinder.

OK, I confused, how did brake fluid low cause these "DTC 31 - EGR Control Pressure/Baro Sensor Circuit Low (High Vacuum)" ?

I also am corn-fuzed code 31 fixed with addition of brake fluid ???, and at top of thread is there a problem in FAQs description for that code??

Hey i dunno why, i added the fluid, pumped the brakes and drove for a bit. Cleared the code and it hasn't come back. Ask the ECM.

Let me put that one in my book to always check on I guess. LOL Glad something worked out.

Hey you guys i was confused too. Lights out now thats all i know. The ABS light did come on later thats why i checked the brake fluid and now no more lights.

Ok, 31 is back now today, i did a closer inspection of the WG selonoid and the wires are cracked and probably vibrating with the engine movement, maybe the gravel roads make it worse and thats why i didn't see it after clearing the codes until i was on gravel again this morning.

TD There is no problem with the code in FAQ's as far as i know, QM's original post was edited after i answered what was posted to start with. He must have made a goof in typing what i seen originally. We be only human.
