An 03 with 255000 miles and never any trouble...sounds like you have a good truck...sounds like you are loosing prime some where...I don't see how dumping the filter and refilling/priming makes any difference...dosn't priming alone get her started?
Still sounds like a good truck...

I have tried to just prime to get is to start but no luck I have to remove the fitler
It has been a good truck I haul a 45' gooseneck trailer for days on end Never shutting down Tried diffurent filters If I put a new one on It will go a couple of days before I have to start pulling it off

Obviously this is a strange occurance...if you think the filter is clogging then you may consider pulling the fuel tank for inspection and/or cleaning...you may want to inspect every fuel line, connection and the filter mounting assembly for cracks and or leaks...the fuel system on the low pressure side, drafts fuel from the tank to the engine so [visable] fuel leaks may not be present...

Not familiar with LB7 but I am guessing it has a wif on the fuel filter. I wonder if unplugging and plugging back in will do the trick.

X2 I would try to clean the tank you might have something growing in your tank that is plugging up the filter.

I have had the tank out GMC dealer told me that the lift pump in the tank was bad It doesn't have one That shows what I'm working with The lift pump that I mounted Has 10psi @ 24gpm Marine grade Stewart/warner
You would think that it would keep the system primed at all times This problem started last summer so I don't think that temp is a problem I'm going to try and bypass the filter assembly and see if that works and also check for leaks on the pickup side This truck is bone stock and never be into the dealer for anything Has the original injectors which i see is out of the norm when it's running I have no issue it will get down the road

Could the injectors be leaking down into the block when not running? Yes I know what you are dealing with in reguards to the dealer...did they actually take the tank out or just give you the standard line? Might want to find another dealer or private shop with a good diesel mechanic...Where in PA are you located?

Took the tank out myself & gave it a good cleaning not much dirt I change oil at least once a month and the fuel filter every other I spend alot of time on the road and you never know were the fuel came from It seems like i have to relieve pressure from the fuel system to get it to start and by dumping the filter seems to do that I'm not sure how the filter works but it has a large spring inside for some reason I'm in Indiana PA Just northeast of pittsburgh
