Had a couple of lights burn out on my gauge cluster over time, (3) illumination lights behind speedo and volt meter. Talked to dealer and a couple of places and all said I'd have to send the whole cluster in or buy a new one @$400.00:mad:. I opted to pull the cluster apart myself and found the bulbs to be soldered in:eek: I clipped the things out, went to Radio Shack and found a couple of small 12v bulbs with just the metal contacts hanging out of em' and soldered them back in the thing. Reassembled and now looks like new. Best $20 I have spent in a while and that included the soldering iron!

Alot of people on here have done it but they usually replace all of them with LED's so they will last longer and they are alot brighter. I think there is also a DIY on this procedure.

I figured others here have but couldn't find much on it. LEDs is a great idea, I will replace the bulbs with them the next time I have it apart.

If you do a search in the DIY section you will find something. I think there was something in the electronics sec. too.
