so i have an 03 and i know that there was a recall on the guage cluster. my speedo has stopped working and after hooking it up to the scan tools the dash is bad. i went to the dealer. and they are telling me that since i have more the 70k on my truck.. i have 96k that they wont cover it. i have owned the truck since 43k and was never informed of a recall. what are my options?

Do a search in the electrical section and look for this Thread: "Instrument guages not working intermitted" Member "SSDuramax66" posted it and read it.
It was never a recall. It's a "Special Policy" bulletin and you should be covered unless you
are at 96k/miles?
Chevy extended it to 7 years and 70000 miles or 110000 km.
The Dealer should still cover it, or go to another Dealer.

did you get a extended warrenty when you bought the truck?mine did the same thing thay fixed it once happend agin after warrenty went out but get them to fix it under the shop warrenty(1 year)fought about that.

I bought a new stepper motor on ebay and fixed mine myself for about $10

no i didnt get the extended warrenty. i bought it from a used from a non-gm dealer im gonna start calling around to the bigger garages in the area to see if i can get one of them to budge..

I stopped by dealer today with 145,000 miles. Service writer took down my info then had someone scan the readings. He told me that the cluster should be in on Tuesday and we would set up a time for repair. No cost, never mentioned a recall. He said there had been alot of problems. I was not expecting it to be so hassle free especially with my mileage.

keep triying another dealer it has to be fixed for free or if not go to ebay they will repair them for 175 they will change all the lights and all its a plan b if they dont cover it
