been reading up on this, seems like a good way to go. some ?. looks like transfer flow and supertank are the popular ones. t flow tanks are steel? are supertanks also? how much weight would a bigger steel tank and more fuel be vs. stock? i know it depends on size of tank, was just curious. seems like you would pick up a lot of xtra weight? wonder if that would affect mpg?, or would it be minimal? thinking of doing this mod this summer, any input appreciated.

I just purchased a Transfer-Flow 98 gallon aluminum tank for mine, almost finished the installation. I looked at just about all of them and settled for this unit. Its light and great quality with everything you need to install it.
Don't go over 119 gallonshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif You would then need to run placards!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Thats the DOT law.
Wish you well in your search.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Supertank is plastic w/ a steel rock shield, takes about 3 hours to do the switch from the stock to the 66gal on a long box cc. For more info pm.

3 hours

Took me more then that. I got a 65 gallon oem undercab replacement. I can drive 8-900 b4 refill.

I got the 75 gallon supertank. Took about 6 hours to replace and I can make it 1100 miles before fillup on the highway with no load, and I am just under 1/4 tank. With a load I fillup about 750 miles.

well talked to transfer flow yesterday. they dont make a bigger tank for reg cabs long bed. so i guess im going with an inbed tank. was lookin at the 30 & 50 gallon tanks. according to the web site, theres only about 30$ differance in price for the alum.steel tanks. is there an inline pump on these units? anyone who has the in bed tanks have any problems? how many holes you have to drill in the bed? was thinking about rhino lining mine for longevity? any thoughts? :)

I personally use the bed of my truck on a daily basis. I could not afford to lose any of my bed space. This was my only factor in going with the supertank and I am glad I did.
