: My "GND" wasn't grounded!

The other morning my next door neighbor knocked on the door. He needed a jump start.

"No problem," says I. While the DMAX warmed up, I dug out the jumper cables. Figured I'd attach the ground lead to that galvanized steel strap nicely labeled "GND" and has the little red junction box mounted where the two batteries' hot leads come together.

I absolutely wasn't getting any juice through those cables. :mad: Moved the cables to the drivers side battery and voila!:)

Checked that "GND" strap out with my ohm meter and low and behold that puppy is totally and completely isolated from the engine block. That's got to be some good paint on there. I will remove some of it at a later date.

I have found several screws and bolts that for all the world should have been grounded but were not. Take it apart and clean it up. Having that "GND" connection is nice.
