Will my tongue and trailer weight change with a larger set of tires ??
Truck is an 01 D/A XC/SB 4wd.
Will the trucks overall towing capabilities be lowered or will it help... can i find out by reading the tires ??
Id really like a new set of those 305 Nitto's. ;)
Thanks in advance guys.

1.The 305 will probably require a new wheel as I don't think it'd be safe to mount that wide of a tire on our stock wheels.

2. the tongue weight is made of a bunch of variables including the weight capacity of the hitch, wheels, tires, springs, axle, frame, etc. That being said, most of the time the weak links are the tires/wheels and in our cases if you're planning on putting a bunch of weight on the hitch our hitches are a weak link too.

3. The towing ability will drop in terms of power if you go up to a larger tire because you're changing the gear ratio and it's not in the trucks favor. You're braking power will also suffer.

4. Nitto should have published somewhere the weight carrying capacity of their tires.

So in some senses it can help and in others it will hurt. You have to evaluate everything and make the right decision for yourself and your needs.

Sorry about hi jacking this thread..

WAskier, I'm looking to level my truck like yours. Did you crank the torsion bars? If you did, how many turns.

BTW, I was also looking at the Nitto AT graplers, nice tires but couldn't find the load range for them either.

Sleez - my suspension is bone stock. Well it was before yesterday anyway, I installed bilsteins on the truck. But I haven't touched the T-bars.

WAskier,

Thanks for the reply.

Brian,

I saw the ad for nitto's in the new diesel power mag. the 305's are E rated, same as the stock 245's
